There are two things I'll like to know 1.Will a player EVER be able to travel between planets without warp drive (i know it will take a long time, there is another space survival game i play). 2.Will a player be able to walk around the ship when the latter is on the move. Simple YES or NO will do for me and I'm asking IF it EVER be added not when

    1. Depending on the system design, it is possible to fly between planets already, but it requires the system map to be designed in such a manner (that is, with a primary planet, and other planets as "moons" of that planet. They can be spaced quite a distance apart to give the feel of traversing between planets without warp. Granted, not quite what you're looking for - and to that I'm likely to say "No, this isn't going to happen" because the warp is needed to unload the playfield of the first planet and load the playfield of the next.

    2. Going with "I wouldn't count on it." here. Not without switching the game engine from Unity to something more robust, like Unreal or CryEngine. Unity just doesn't do that sort of thing very well. Now it might be possible to "fake" it, by logging the ship's position and velocity at the point where we stand up from the helm, setting an instance where we are inside the ship and able to move about, then moving the ship to a pre-calculated position when we sit back down at the helm to create the illusion of getting up and walking around in-flight, but it would be disconcerting for another ship following us, as they wouldn't see the same thing we see - in fact, they may see our ship disappear because we've gone walkabout in flight.

It may be possible to spawn off an instance of our ship, at our current position, flying in a straight line for the other ship to see, follow and even attack, but those instances would have to be merged back together when we resume the helm - so ultimately it would take a tremendous amount of programming to create this sort of effect, and for what purpose? So we can use the head in mid-flight? Or grab a burger from the fridge?

I suspect the reason nobody's perfect has to do a lot with the number of players with PC's capable of running 'perfect'.
The amount of overhead that would be generated would be pretty staggering. Some day we'll see games that require 18 cores, 128 GB of RAM and three dedicated video cards as standard requirements. Just not any day soon.

Walking in moving ships is on their list (it's a highly requested feature) but it also involves redoing the whole collision system. That would also fix several other problems as well.

So it's a "maybe". Not because the devs don't want to add it.
