Hi there! I’ve been playing for a while again and I want to start a new icon project, I made https://trello.com/b/RqtD4adp/r21-star-citizen-streamdeck-icons and I have a itch to make them also for this game, but i’m curious who would use them and what kind of this I should include, would love to know! I’ll be starting with the main keys, so like inventory and such, after that I might make some user suggestion ones Replic~
Hey @Replic TuaniOne I'm also using stream deck for Star Citizen and I would appreciate some icons for EGS. Your icons for SC look good!
Awesome, ill try to work on some today after work, if Im starting the project its going to take some time, but I guess i got some ideas already
Oh this is one heck if a coincidence! I have been working on an EGS virtual "button box" project for android devices. I'll upload the themed button images and UI work I have done to date. Hopefully these will help others. Should log on later today...
... And I have just looked at the OP's virtual buttons, it way better than my efforts, but I'll post latter anyways...
Everyone has their own quality and taste, the important thing is that you made them! To be honest, there is always someone better than someone else, like, I lack with coding, I saw someone make Elite Dangerous buttons for the Stream Deck with a plugin that actually reads game data, I was mind blown, I want to have that as well, but it takes time Also, I mostly work with apple products and then the Stream Deck, so I have no idea how it would work with Android, you do have a lot more options on there with things like virtual keyboards and such Also, I'm thinking about something like this:
This is the UI concept design (work in progress) that I am attempting to put together: My thought process is that I am pulling commands together, that are used a little less frequently and often require memorising multiple press keybindings (ie SHIFT+I). Some of these I regularly forget. Then the second design concept is to make things feel right for a vessel control panel. The images may not on their own, be immediately obvious. So they are intending to be: (Left Panel) Pilot Mode Warp Auto Brake Shield Auto Level Change View Map Control panel (Centre Panel) Cruise Mode (select direction arrow) Light Power (Right Panel) HV Specific controls: Fixed drill mode Auto Flip/Right side Boost I have looked at several software apps to achieve this and currently I am working with SIM Dashboard. This is simply a button box tied to mirror specific keypress. I do not have the knowledge to extract data from the game (I guess via the mod API) to make interactive screens, though when to you what has been done with motor racing sims and what Game Glass does with Star Citizen/Elite - this would be very cool. One for the modding guys...!
It's good to see that others are also working on it, I like where you are going. I was about to do something similar for Star Citizen, but then GameGlass came, which is why I dropped that idea for tablets and focussed on the Stream Deck, some people like using the tablet, some like to use physical buttons. If someone knows how to mod and can read things in game and pass them trough to the stream deck, then I would love to know it, because that is one of the things I would really love to work with, in Star Citizen this is not possible yet (and not even sure if it ever will) and I'm also not sure if this game also has it, I should research it
