No seriously, you can put the power requirement somewhere. I am really sick of your B.S. this is getting really old good bye. Oh and I really do care for any "community" comments Because I don't respect you guys either. Seriously remove them from SV's and lower their power requirements for HV's. I don't Care about the people that have an SV fetish.
As a connoisseur of fetishes I must admit to my curiosity. Please explain this "SV fetish" to me in detail so that I may add it to my extensive repertoire.
I so wanted to say the same thing. But seeing as how we already had our disagreement before. I thought better of it.
You know what ? You're absolutely right. Just a few days ago, I was still fighting with @Brimstone who wanted this feature, and I was telling him he could simply edit the config files (like someone could tell you now for power & whatever you want). Well they gave him the feature, and I spent all this energy for nothing.... well, not really. The thing is that when the devs make a move like not allowing turrets on SV, they give us reasons, and most players will try to see the logic in there, and accept the decision because "we don't know everything". So ok, they gave us the config files, we can customize the game as much as we need, so no more reason to see players complain on such things. Now the devs will have all their focus on other things. That's the logic, and players understand it. And now, see what they did : they went against their logic. And it's not the first time they do it, and I see you saw that too. And just like you, I think it's some kind of BS and borderline trolling us. I can't count the number of times this happened to me, for different features and tweaks. I may be the one here who is just too dumb to see what is really going on, but most probably the reasons behind these decisions were never really important in the first place. In the end, you're right : the developers are playing popularity against credibility, to some extent. That, I firmly believe. And now, the new "decision with sound reasons" is : let's leave Alpha and Early access, and look at what the playerbase is doing. Some are pro, some are against, and everyone is pulling the cover on his side. Are the developers in a hurry to calm things down ? Not at all. As usual, they will wait and just issue a patch with some "surprises" like this one you (and surely others) didn't like, as it doesn't even fit with the original intent to keep HV and SV in very different roles... for years. I think in view of this, the playerbase should try to avoid playing that game, and focus on asking for important things to be done properly, and stop acting like fools. And you express your legitimate frustration here, and it looks like many players want to make fun of it. It's not cool, I hate when I get in this situation, I can totally relate. But no one here can tell with any amount of certainty who will be the fools in the end.
My point really is, I hate imposed limits. Let the player decide how they want to play. I intensely dislike the motorbike and don't use it much- but I would never advocate its removal because it's simple enough to just not use it. Leave it for those who do.
I won't try to say the opinion of the OP is wrong even though I completely disagree that this is an earth shattering change. Adding drills and turrets to SVs is definitely a 180 in terms of their previous stance on forcing dedicated roles for vehicle types and all that but I see this as a move in the right direction. The builders and players should be choosing the role of their vehicles and the devs are just responsible for designing things so that not every vehicle is the same ultimate build because other styles don't make practical sense. There should be pros and cons to each vehicle type and that should make it a player choice to use the right tool for the job. Maybe an HV is better on fuel so it's a more efficient miner on a planet but in space it's crazy slow so an SV may be better there, for example. A CV could also work in space but it's larger size may make it less practical for that purpose even though you still can slap a drill on it and go nuts if you want to and it won't have terrible consequences. I currently mine exclusively with my HV even in space but now I'd consider an SV for that instead. Doesn't bother me at all that other people might do it differently, I just choose not to. At the end of the day you have to remember that this is a game and it's not so damn serious. Rage quit if you must but I really don't see why these changes would be the trigger.
