^ that is only true if the devs had a stealth system in place - which is clearly not the case. If the devs ever put in a stealth system then sure, deceiving the enemy would a tool in your toolkit. As it stands, there is no such system and the public core is not a viable method of implementing such a system. Ergo, exploit to be removed and not a bug in relation to turrets. Many of us actually would like some sort of stealth system in the game.
seldom heard such a lively crap, the singleplayers used the function more than the multiplayer. When the public function was gone, the singleplayers in the forum almost cried and directly identified the culprit, the evil multiplayer in PvP. Based on the reaction here in the forum, you saw that for the most part it only disturbed singleplayers because they used the exploit the most. The starter HV should spawn without a core and players have to put one in themselves so that single players can finally stop using this exploit. As I said before, I don't like single play because you can cheat so nicely. In multiplay, is the real game, there is no godmode and item menu.
I'm not tempted, I don't play a singleplay game, it's just not fun. And don't try to turn the words in my mouth.
Alright I had to look this one up. Now maybe goggle really messed up and if not then, I'm still laughing. (stickler, literally "someone who craps currants")
should be better called, dried roisine without a core, is a phrase in German for a meticulous person.
IMO ... The Reason why soooo few PvP Players complained was that non of them would have wanted to confirm the use of that "oversight" as an exploit. Of course PvE Players got angry about it. But who should have complained about their PUBLIC Status 'use' - the Zirax and the other AI?. Btw., -When the public function was gone, the singleplayers in the forum almost cried and directly identified the culprit, the evil multiplayer in PvP.- the explanation about the WHY it was changed came from the Moderators.
The PvP players didn't complain because it still works for what it was used for, just not so comfortable.
Well, lets be honest here shall we? The so-called "Artificial Intelligence" (what I deem the "Non-player Character and Environment Behavior Algorithms [NPCEBA]," or just "Computer Opponent" [CO}) CHEATS. In fact, I'd go so far as to allege that ALL (so-called A.I.) Computer Opponents in ALL computer games CHEAT. Why? Because they are not artificial intelligence. I'm not even sure the end result of those experiments the super-duper computer scientists are doing with the Quantum Computers could ever hope to achieve something which legitimately could be deemed "artificial intelligence." I studied animal behavior for about 40 years and as far as I can tell, we are (even at the cutting edge of computer science) still in the archaea stage of "intelligence" as compared to what we normally consider "intelligent" animals (honey bees, gold fish, termites, etc.) The CO knows exactly where the core is on all my constructs even though: (a) some of it's constructs have no core whatsoever, and (b) even on those which HAVE a core, I have no idea where they are from the start. We could list a dozen or perhaps scores of examples of this wretched CO cheating it's ass off. So I don't feel any guilt or shame at all cheating it. IT DESERVES IT.
Fortunately, one can still get Zirax to neutral/friendly just by killing a LOT of wildlife in their territory. I have zirax, talon and polaris all at friendly on the world I started last night, and am just about to start building a base and teching up with the cool bonus of no drone base attacks and being able to mine ore from anywhere on the planet with no problems. I used the basic tier5 HV with 2 gatlings strapped to the side, all restrictions enabled.
Yeah I have done that a few times. Arctic planet is hard though as there are not many predators roaming around.
lol... this is something I often though about using as bottom-line argument but never got the nerve to dive into. And we're supposed to play test, which gives us even more "legitimate" reasons to "cheat". It's obvious that server owners are not asking their "clients" to "playtest" and it's normal, but it puts things in perspective.
That is like saying a function cheats or the rules cheat. That is not cheating, it is the game mechanics.
