Could the devs please consider dividing the target group currently for drones/NPC/players to separate drones from NPC/players? -I would like my rocket turrets to only be taking care of drone attacks, and not waste rockets on things on foot, and have the sentry turrets (plus possibly projectile in some cases) focusing on NPC's/players. -May be wrong, but I assume I'm not the only one that would like this Thank you.
I don't mind my rocket turrets delivering a very bad day to a bunch of Zirax grunts on the ground. Gods know I've eaten enough Zirax Air Defense rockets in my time. They're fantastic for being in-flight when you're dead, only to continue seeking and destroying you while respawning.
Again, this is about enabling choice for the user. Not minding wasting rockets is an opinion, but not so much a reason to limit choice.
Too many choices can be a bad thing too. Sometimes the better choice is to limit choices so people can't make the wrong ones. I'm not opposed to this, I'm just saying, I don't see it as a waste of rockets. Now, rocket vs. alien bug, yeah, that's annoying, and we can turn that off (I think Prey is off by default these days anyways). But vs. an enemy... there's no such thing as "overkill".
It does take away from my epic sniper fun. It is subjective, but I find turrets aren't as satisfying as head shots, and don't contribute to rankings.
You can snipe with a T2 rocket launcher too. It's rather entertaining for me, especially sniping a Zirax Commander with a half dozen troops around him and watching the whole pack go up in smoke. You're definitely right about one thing though - turrets do not contribute to your rankings - but on the flip side, they also don't detract from your standings either, something quite useful early in the game, when you're not making an enemy hate you more while still delivering resources to you. A double-edged blade that is only sharp on one side is a paradox.
