Will an unmanned base (specifically one in space) fire at enemies? I experimented and it seemed not. The enemy did not fire at the base, either.

I am looting, ummm, *exploring* Legacy space and set up a "repair" base in one system. I thought if I armed it I could lure some of the tougher Legacy ships in range and it could help me take them down. But they just flew on by.

You obviously used the wrong bait.

Did you try Xoovian Dancing Girls? The Zirax have a thing for them, and the Polaris will sell anything.

@Space Viking I did just that yesterday :) and it worked perfectly. I have a station hidden in the main system's asteroid belt (the only one with the planet). I then flew off to hunt and attracted a group of Lagecy. While I was sneaking through the asteroid belt, the station started to fire. We then had them in the crossfire. 4 Infectors and a decimator fell victim to the tactic. However, the station also suffered because the Pentaxid ran out too early. The fights last a long time.

So, I went back to the sector and lured the Legacy ships away from my base then circled around to check on it.

    DOH!

o_O I had the generators turned off...

    Face Palm. Been there.

The bad thing is ... been there more than once.

Glad you figured it out, you've given me a good idea to try later in my game play. :)
