Do you think....?

    Dear community (and perhaps Devs if they want to chip in)....

    Do you think we'll ever see:

    1.- Blocks that can share a voxel e.g. lights, sensors, etc
    2.- A proper ship combat UI that allows us to target specific ships and/or subsystems and which way to turn.
    3.- Mega-structures i.e. large cities or huge space stations
    4.- A bigger variety of NPCs, especially humans.

    I put these as a question because they're not really requests, but more like curiosity whether these things are possible in the eyes of people who have seen the development for years...

    1.- No, that's probably way more trouble than it's worth.
    2.- Probably. I imagine we'll be able to attach elements from the control panel's first page along with weapons, tools, and turret controls eventually. Space ship control in games is rapidly becoming about having a plethora of little details at your fingertips.
    3.- You already can. You just need to build them out of multiple BAs.
    4.- I don't think we've even yet seen the full extent of the sorts of people POI designers can represent using the NPCs we have.

    Nice, so looking forward to that...:D
    Ah yes I know, I have made a few, but I'm talking bigger! Like cities covering a quarter of the planet or more...
    I'm afraid I didn't quite understand that...

    to 3.: it's notthe same when you need to fuel them seperately
    to 4.: I am not sure what you think but i think Bollen talks about the actual NPC, like the Zirax guy with a minigun, or the trader that youcan interact with by pressing F. And i can tell you there are really not many models for humans. I think there are 5, max 7 in total.

    In terms of development, it doesn't make sense to complete re-design a system from the ground up to add one super complex feature that will have minimal uses. It's about cost vs reward, and the money just simply isn't in the results.

    At this point in the games development, a change like that will almost never happen. They pretty much would have needed to start off coding with microvoxels.

    I totally agree, @SylenThunder, I do not expect the change ever, but it wouldn't just be a petty feature, it would allow builders a lot more freedom than before.

    It's a small dev team, about 6 people or so I believe they've said.
