Hi! Was wondering why we had no info on steam about recents updates, and last post about update on this site is from 8 octobre, when it seems we had some other littles updates after that day ? But instead of complaining I have a question : are you ok boys,? (and girls?) we use to complain but maybe some of you aren't at their best, mean maybe some are sick? If so: wish you a speedy recovery! Same to all members of this community, Take care of yourself (and others)
All updates are noted on Steam aswell. Read the v1.2 Patch in News Latest Edit: == CHANGELOG == Hotfix 2020-10-23 v1.2.2 (Build 3135) Fixes: Fixed: turret docked collider target <- AI Turrets no longer target docked vessels Fixed problem that rockets did not hit a moving ship reliable Potential fix for dialogue variables getting reset to 0: set wait timeout for DB variables from 10s to 30s. Less DB traffic by writing player log data less often (every 3min instead of every 1min) Were fine, were working on hard on the Christmas Update
so you, at least, are ok, good to read thanks for your answer, did read the news about 1.2 the 8 of october but since that very game update, quiet sure I had others ones when conecting to the game via steam but there was no news linked to those (small) updates, nor on my steam nor here on the news or am I missing a section of the forum, or those were no real update ? bug in the steam interafce?
Why not post them as a new update, then? Noone clicks on old news expecting edits. Of all the games I own on Steam, no other dev does edits like that (that I know of).
They're still an update, and new activity, and should be posted as a separate thing. Please see this suggestion I posted: https://empyriononline.com/threads/make-separate-steam-posts-for-updates-and-hotfixes.96192/
Furthermore, I just took a look at the Patch Notes forum, and hotfixes used to be posted as separate threads. What changed?
Hi Thanks for your answer and comments, as Ambaire wrote "They're still an update, and new activity, and should be posted as a separate thing." if not this is probably the reason why, when you are doing such updates and when we the players we connect to steam we have a warning/pop-up about that update BUT we click on the "more info option on that window , it opens a steam's blank/empthy window and if we come and check on your forum, we don't see new info, unless we think to scroll down to notice some edit in a post still showing "8 of Octobre as date..." Anyway, first goal of my post was to show some empathy for the Dev team Mean on forum we sometimes forget that other people -and even the Devs- are humans too, doing their best in specials conditions.
Simple answer things change People leave, Other people take over that job and do it in there own way If you edit a post it doesnt change the post original date. On the forum it shows it when a post is edited. Take that up with Valve that they have to change there system. Thats not something we can change
Every other dev somehow manages to make it work and keep a coherent line of communication with their players. I guess the empyrion devs are ~special~. I guess I should abandon hope that Empyrion will ever be finished, let alone polished. Not sure why I bothered checking back up on these forums and seeing how the game was progressing. It's obvious it will remain the same broken Alpha game it was a year ago.
Yeah post the updates as individuals so they stand out and we dont have to hunt them down, and while I am at it tag what files change so thoses of us (most) that are not running vanilla dont have to hunt through the intire file base to find changes
Fairly certain this will be the update the delivers the long awaited, and highly anticipated, shrubbery blocks and drinks globe.
