Okay Old lady here...I have looked through everywhere and I have been away from the game for a while... I cannot "exact" steps to upgrade my T1 autominers to T2 autominers, and the of course, T2 to T3. I read in 2020 there was an error with them....and other posts that are old. Can someone help me figure it out and give me a step-by-step procedures. Thanks in advance.... Sherrie
I recently upgraded T1 autominers, like last week or something. 1. Deploy them over a resource (because I don't know if you can upgrade them while they are sitting in an inventory). 2. Change your multitool to upgrade mode and point it at the autominer. That'll tell you what resources you'll need (or check what's required by opening up the recipe in a constructor and subtracting the T1 material from the T2 to get the extra materials for the upgrade). 3. Put the required resources in your inventory or link via logistics to a container that has them. 4. Point at it with your multitool set to "upgrade" and click. If they aren't deployed yet and you have a Deconstructor you could also just recover the resources from the T1's and build T2's from scratch. Hopefully the Deconstructor gives you the autominer core, though, because the core has to come from loot or bought from a trader if I'm not mistaken. Edit: the Deconstructor will return the core. I tested this by throwing a T1 into a Deconstructor.
In case you do not know or not remember the multitool by right mouse click shows the disk with the icons presenting you with various modes. There you will find the upgrade mode.
