I meant those ramps which actually look like shutter Doors.
BUT if those folding ramps you show are no longer water tight(?) is quite strange as there was a Bug report(?) here ->

    https://empyriononline.com/threads/boarding-ramp-no-longer-airtight-7780.96967/

recently where they have not been air tight any longer... therefor my rolling eyes - - are perfectly placed;).

Is the change a slight damage to the admin core so the layout of the Abandoned Depot POI makes sense? :D

Dafuq did i write? The post conains about 25% of what was in my head?! I need another coffee.

Problem with the POI is that the core is preventing damage to blocks that aren't already damaged. Though the layout of the POI suggests this should actually be the case as there are alternative ways pre-made.

An undamaged Admin core makes the whole POI indestructible while also making the core itself undestructible. A single hp damage allows damage to the POI (like salvaging it) as it allows the core to be destroyed by weapons.

And now that the POI is changed and games are forced to auto update i can't even look up the old one anymore.

"Brain, does that look right now?"
"Why ask me? It's friday evening, I'm outta here."

Tried this latest patch out last night with some friends. We found several instances where we would shut off the engines of our CV after landing, exit the pilot seat, and fall through the ship to the ground and the ship would fall and roll around a few hundred meters away. Had another instance where while in CV, came into a planet's atmosphere with 2 passengers, discovered a POI (Drone Base) and then couldn't move the ship. Thankfully we were out of range of it's guns, but it was just locked in place. I had to log out and back in again to be able to move the ship. One of the passengers had to log out and back in again to be able to get out of his seat once I did land.

I appreciate the continued development, but don't you guys test this stuff first? I've got over 1400 hours into this game and have been playing it off and on for years and it's always the same, big patch comes out - "New Features!, Bug Fixes!" and it ads major bugs, then it's followed by a series of smaller patches to fix the biggest of the new bugs. Can't more testing be done before the release to avoid that part? These are not insignificant issues!

I'd really love to see more missions and end-game content, but if it means game-halting bugs like this it's not worth it.
    Thank you

With your network and setup ? Surely not. That's why they have a template for bug reports (which many players don't even use, because, you know, they know so much better...)

Sometimes I wonder if some players realise that if the developers did care to spend many hours per day on the forum chatting with the folks, they would not be working on bugs, but players would feel good because they're being personnally addressed and "considered"...

So in a sense I'm OK with the fact we don't see Eleon's minions doing the "social trick" just to calm things down all the time and focus on better time investment...

I'm OK with that as well.
I guess we've all seen an example or two of developers expressing themselves too much online.
It takes only one textual opinion to be misinterpreted by a lurking troll and then... boom.
    Community is at risk.

The problem is I read thru that changelog. I got nothing out of it. Given time with a lot of study, I might figure it out. I'm not saying I'm dumb. I'm saying I'm ignorant as in not having knowledge on how to interpret information presented to me. I'm saying EGS makes me feel dumb sometimes and sometime comes around more often these days.

But thanks for the encouraging words. They are appreciated.:)

Just to be clear, this is a drop-down "boarding ramp" as opposed to the simpler, telescoping "ramp" which does NOT have a force field that I believe @Germanicus was referring. I hope this helps.

    No but shhh !

Just pretend. I do it all the time, nobody sees zinch and I even get some likes !

In fact I just compared rapidly, but my gut feeling (from past experience) is that... they simply... copy-pasted some parts of the "experimental" update notes. ^^

The only part concerning you is this one :

Which translates to : " Instead of imposing a "new crosshair" which would assuredly not satisfy the eternal complainers Eleon allowed us to fix the thing to our liking, and we can share our "crosshair" easily, which could not have been possible otherwise. I gave a walkthrough (even illustrated) on another thread for those who want to change their "crosshair" by themselves , for TrackDriver and the others".

The rest is addressed more to the "eternal complainers" that should recognize themselves as the ones who never participate in any forum activity apart from... complaining. Although I can understand some amount of frustration, seeing one person coming on forums just to piss bitterness everytime is not something we will miss if not done. This is just like the bug reports thing : easier to make a vague and general negative comment than to really try to help the developers with the problem with accurate info. Once in a while is OK, we're all human, but the same type of comments by the same people over and over is just pestering.

And no, this can not be "simply fixed to allow changing crosshair in a menu" and it's easy to see because they gave us an entire and (not too) complex procedure to do it ourselves.

I'll take your word for it as you understand these things better than I do.

What "they" provided may not seem complicated to you. To me, however, it is damnably complicated, hence my earlier pissing and moaning. Retinopathy and Attention Deficit not withstanding, absorbing such info without detailed visual aids is problematic. Not saying I can't do it. Just saying it will be very time consuming and tedious until I can see results. That's where AD rears its ugly head.

I love this game to distraction. But...
I had a lot more fun in the beginning. It's prettier now with more fantastic worlds than I could have thought possible. I intend to visit as many as possible. Hopefully I can focus on the many guides you have presented to me and others, and apply them here. I appreciate your efforts very much.

    Be well, my friend.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no. I see "learning" as easy when it's well explained, and that's where the main problem can be. Also showing others what we know is one of the best ways to learn ourselves, so in a way I'm doing all this to help myself too. :D

I did not see things like that all my life, and only took for granted that some can learn X and some just can't. What I found out with more experience is that apart from severe problems, most things can be learned by almost everyone. But unfortunately, "humans" have a tendency to blame others for their own faulty ways, and "bad teaching" falls into this. Adults can shelter themselves from the prychological damage such things can do, but for kids it's disastrous and will affect them for the rest of their lives.

So when I explain something and the ones receiving the information don't understand, I absolutely refuse to believe it's their fault. There is no way I can accept that, without trying a few more times to find a better explanation. And if after trying a lot I still fail, then maybe it was just me that did not understand the "real" problem in the first place.

If our brains were not designed at the core to be "problem solving" organs, no one would be reading this, and there would be nothing to read.

Now imagin if someone could find a way to cure all diseases and force peace on Earth, but was unable to transfer that knowledge to others. Sharing knowledge should never be seen as "losing" something : it is our duty.
