My point about toilets is scale, not function, although having function of whatever kind adds to immersion. If the toilets were removed, it wouldn't be a big deal. We have stomach pills and could institute barfing via Ctrl+B or some other combination. The problem (for me) is size. It is ridiculously out of scale and as such, takes up far too much space for just the water closet. Scaled down with an adjacent lavatory, locker, or even a shower (it's larger than it needs to be, too) would make more sense imo. As for function, if you can't have 2 functions in 1 block, lavs don't have functions now. A scaled down shower could have a deco locker or another lav.
Using toilets for immersion ? That's an idea... Edit : I have to make a precision : we can add multiple "functions" regarding buffs/ debuffs, but the block will act as one, so only one sound effect and one prompt. This is a lesser issue, it just makes using a toilet/ shower triggger multiple effects which can look weird, but at least it doesn't make a deco items useless if merged in a bathroom.
Frankly, I always thought, in the beginning, that the toilets/showers were there for grins like the snowman head. But it did add to the sense of realism. We eat/drink, therefore we pee/poop. Within a 2 meter space, the centerline of the WC should be 0.5m from one side (unless something has changed since I retired). Assuming the toilet block is a room, this leaves space for a 1m wide lav/vanity or a 1m square shower stall. The combination makes for a complete head, just add a door. BTW, buffs/debuffs: haven't a clue!
That was a ... pun ? Toilet... immersion... You know, like they do in spy movies, when they want to force someone to talk... The "functions" : cure this and that. We can put several separated by commas, between quotes. So we can merge the toilet's effects and the shower effects in one block, and when we talked about this the first time on the "What did you do..." thread I though we couldn't. I just did not check it seriously. I still have the 3d file with stubs of models for a compact washroom as discussed then, I just did not have time (and will) to work on these yet.
Yes, I was ignoring the pun, no offense meant. I suppose I take this matter too seriously as I spent most of my adult life designing plumbing systems. Also, like you, I am detail oriented and get annoyed when I encounter things like this. I am anxious to see what you have devised though I fear if it involves substituting files and such I will be slow to implement as it will require a bit more concentration than I seem to be able to muster these days. This is a bit off topic, but I really want to see more appropriate deco. I want to see a "head" as you might find on a spaceship or station rather than emulate a hotel suite. Not instead of, if it can be added. If not, then to replace it. imo There should be more of a modular approach to furnishings: kitchen/galley, toilet/bathroom, lab/engineering. I know there are limitations to number of block types, texture types, etc. But I get the impression that available slots are increasing, or am I wrong? I was hoping you would clarify buff/debuff. Another time. I apologize for ignoring the pun.
