When Constructor / Deconstructor / Oven / Food Processor - finish crafting items => automatically shut down to save energy

It essentially does, but it performs an automatic shut down just like any other modern piece of technology that can shut down and start back up quickly: it actually goes into standby. I find this perfectly acceptable. A true shutdown can be managed via switches and signals. Most of my ships have a 'power save mode' signal on their control panel that turns off all non-essential systems.

    1) now the designer - when he finished creating items - remains on, inactive, and consumes a lot of energy (!)
Therefore, when all the items are created, I have to ALWAYS MANUALLY DISCONNECT the constructor to save energy (!)
This is not always convenient, because I can order many items to be made and go on a hike, and when I return, the base has no energy, since the tanks are out of fuel (!)

Therefore, auto-shutdown of producing machines remains relevant (!)

    2) If you have such a "magic signal" that puts all devices in the energy saving mode = please share your experience))) Or tell it on YouTube video, or a link to the Workshop for the recipe of your base - I will study the signals on my own)))

    Thank ))

An active small constructor uses 500 energy while it only uses 5 or 10 while inactive.

The only really power hungry thing is the furnace which uses 50 fuel while inactive. Thats why a lot of people turn it off when they're gone for some time.

All inactive constructors combined use less power than a single cpu core, which might be your real problem in a base.

No magic. This is actually really simple and straight-forward. If you need a youtube video I can make one... but seriously this is pretty easy to describe. On the main part of the base control panel, there's a section labeled signals. Name one of them "Power Save Mode". Next go over to the signals tab and select a device that you want to turn off when you activate power save mode. For it's on/off signal select "Power Save Mode" and check the I checkbox (I'm pretty certain I is for Invert). Turn power save mode on/off and you'll see that the device turns on/off appropriately. You can set as many devices as you want to turn on/off with that power save signal, I basically turn off everything but the core (which powers the whole base down), generators, fridges, and a few other items that I like to manually control or that have motion sensors hooked up to them (such as the teleporter).

It works great and can change a base that might last a day on normal generators to being able to last several days. My base is actually generates more solar power than it uses while it's on power save, so I use 0 fuel when I'm away.

But the larger issue here is I think you may simply underestimate the amount of power being used by the constructors while active or the power used by something else. As an example, teleporters use an incredible amount of power. If you leave them turned on, they will burn through basically all of the fuel you can throw at them. They should always be controlled by a motion sensor. Repair stations are another one that I recommend people put on a motion sensor after I was surprised to learn they use a lot more power when sitting there doing nothing than they really should.

If you're gone for only a few hours and coming back to a drained base, I suspect the problem isn't your idle constructors.

Ok, I'll try, but each signal has 4 types of "trigger conditions":
    - follow
    - tooggle
    - on
    - off
maybe - I did something wrong, but this advice DOES NOT WORK as expected (!)

I ask you - either show each step in the screen, or create a short video))
    Thanks )))

Okay. Fine. You'll find below a fairly short video. I took a few minutes to make a base in creative with the absolute minimum necessary. A core, solar panel, solar capacitor, a few constructors, and a light. I setup a power save mode and I hook them all up to the power save mode switch. I demonstrate the power save mode switch changing the power usage and the devices turning on and off with the switch.

    Thank you so much )))
In principle - I did everything CORRECT, as in the video, which means - I immediately understood CORRECTLY)))
But I thought that the Energy-Saving mode was a more tricky combination of logical signals, as a result of which - all devices should automatically turn off upon completion of work (?!) :)

Thank you for the video)) I'm glad that initially I understood everything correctly)))
