That is not my point : the Config.ecf mixed blocks, items and templates in one same file. Better example : Take a weapon (I tested with the T1 sniper) and copy it at the end of the BlocksConfig.ecf file. Remove its ID, and replace "Item" with "Block" and change its name (ex. SniperTest). Save the file, get in game, and the gameobject is there, only it will be "placeable" like a block because of the changed "identifier". What you say about extensions (the "child" part) is not absolute, because the game still accepts these in the Blocks file instead of the Items file (it did in the Config.ecf anyway). Now there's no way to say what is/ isn't "considered" in the definition because we can't pick it up. Writing "item" instead of "block" crashes the game. Of course it's not working as a weapon, but the game did not throw an error, and that is the point : it's an item according to its class, it has "child" and the game reads it, the player can put it in the inventory quickslot and "use" it, despites it being in the "wrong" file or even having the "wrong identifier".
Shutter doors W/O forcefields behind them (I do not always need one, and sometimes it does not fit the build). Ramp blocks with a forcefield behind them (I sometimes use them as doors).
Nutshell, the request is for more NPC pilots. Currently this is the only "pilot" block in the game. I would like to see a few different options.
Turrets! I'd like some smaller turrets, maybe a 2x2 footprint, to fit on smaller CV builds, or as "point-defense" on big ships. I also want more "big" turrets, along the line of the artillery turret, but with other projectile types. Relatedly, it would be nice to have some multi-barrel turrets. It's a realistic way to get more firepower without covering a ship in wall-to-wall TURRETS. On a similar note, some bigger direct-fire guns for all vehicle classes. We need some proper BFGs.
Elevator blocks with walls and windows integrated. Depending on your build style it can be very hard or impossible to place wall or window blocks to the outsides of elevators, especially if you work alot with sloped or curved blocks. Having some options for Elevator Blocks where walls and windows are already integrated would help.

New 2021.- Improvements and wishes: I want posters of various sizes to decorate walls. I want solar panels for ships (SV and CV). I want zoom for the drone. I want the turrets to fire faster. I want enemies to have larger detection radius. I want storm sounds to start and end with a Fade. I want the drill fill to be paintable. I want an object that allows me to teleport to the (CV or Base) from outside. I want the character to crouch and be able to peek around a corner. I want a propeller engine for underwater ships. I want rotating turbines. I want to be able to carry the gun with the flashlight at the start. I want retractable landing platforms up to 10 blocks. I want to reload weapons faster and be able to expand the ammo magazine. I want to see weapon or medicine peddlers. I want the bounding box to fit the shape of the block. I want alarms on the Zirax bases and alarm lights. I want the drone base under attack to summon field troops. I want more difficulty to enter the Drone base from underground. I want the robots to be more difficult to destroy since they are made of metal. I want faster enemy drones (They are aliens). I want textures for weapons. I want circular doors for the blocks with that shape. I want more metallic reflection on objects and painted blocks.
Could you add a new decorative block: Corpse I suggest these shape variants: - Humanoid skeleton (can stand in for any of the various humanoid species) - Bigger humanoid skeleton (for any of the larger species) - Overseer skeleton (or perhaps a more general hexapod skeleton?) - Human corpse (dead UCH faction member) - Zirax corpse - Polaris corpse - Talon corpse (- Maybe also some animal skeletons?) The block should have a small inventory so you can put a story/immersion related item there (weapon, tool, special item etc.) If the corpse/skeleton comes with clothing or remains of clothing, then you should be able to color them. This would allow you to represent different uniforms. The difference to an actual corpse, of course, is that this block does not despawn automatically. You would use these to "create a scene" in a POI or in some other related setup. The idea is to suggest that "something happened here and these guys are now dead". Skeleton vs. corpse would suggest whether that happened recently or a long time ago.
Stairs with railings (one sided and both sides) Stairs that are airtight (hitpoints like hardened steel, for CV and BA, more expensive to build) change for all glass/window blocks: - full transparent (from both sides) added - armored glass less tint from the clear side (like the normal windows) missing armored glass blocks for building full glass cockpit (the triangle corners)
You are aware that there ARE Airtight Stair Cases, yes? If not, right click on the Stair Case and chose the light-blue colored ones.
Its not exactly blocks and devices but.. i think what Empyrion Really needs at the moment is : New and Varied Alien Races there are a growing number of factions but the members are kind of looking the same at the moment due to that lack ... and way too many humans used which seems to be at odds with the story (ps up till now it was ok -- but it is beginning to show)

Thanks, that will help my current build (i have a leak at a staircase). still railings sometimes would be handy to be included in the same block. *EDIT* No, stairs are not airtight, the texture version too. (except both the description and n-menu-show-airtight are wrong) And i have another block i miss for my build: a elevator block with forcefield. the forcefield should be horizontal, best would be at the bottom. *EDIT2* How about an real lift for SV/HV instead of just the ramps? (platform going up vertical, airtight forcefield at upper level) my carrier CV misses a easy way to get from the internal hangar to the top flight deck...
@Eleon: Can we please have 'angled' versions of all wings for SVs? Only 'angled tapered' are currently available and I have a build in mind that requires 'angled swept' wings.
So guys i was just thinking and what do you think of modules for weapons? Example: different scopes, mags, silencer, stock, laser pointer etc. I think this would make 1st a bigger loot table 2nd more immersive upgradability on weapons not just got the materials construct it done use it. 3rd costumiseable colours for different parts. Tiny little things which makes the game even more enjoyable.
New ship weapons. 1. ION Beam-Which is built for example you have to ion block next to each other with 4 generators on top bottom and sides, that would give you the lowest level ION beam. Which can be extended to make stronger, which also takes more power to run it. When it is firing it would tax the generators causing you to burn more fuel then normal weapons. 2. Cruise missile launcher(long range .90 to 1.5 mile range) 3. Missle intercepter turrets.(Anti Air)
