I am working in space and suddenly I get an announcement stating: "Only five minutes until destruction of the freighter." Could someone please tell me what this is about? Thanks
I had this happen today during the "your friends left a drill" bartender conversation at root beer quest: club inferno. Were you working thru a quest as well?
That's what you get when attempting to invade ships in space. You'll have a limited time to loot them before they self-destruct.
I can't speak for @Sillls but I was chatting with a bartender and there weren't any enemy ships anywhere around- that's what was weird about it.
It was reported several Times now as a Bug that appears to happen while in NPC-Conversations in several Places.
Sorry, in my response above - post #3, I should have added that this was the NORMAL (thus intended) situation where you should get this message. Getting it out of this situation is for sure a bug. I think it's best to make a backup of your savegame, change the name and copy it; then try to reproduce getting the message with the copy, if you succeed then open a bug report and send-in your backup savegame, if the devs can reproduce the bug that would help them a lot for a fix.
Hi @japp_02 ... it's the "and try to reproduce getting the message" that's the challenge. Per @Sillls above it occurred for him without a conversation in progress or, as it was for @KRanKO5 and myself during an active quest and conversation. Since a quest is stateful even trying to repo it cleanly could require a fresh game and several hours of grinding. My own assumption is that the player isn't the trigger for this particular event- [BLAHBLAHBLAH] I'm editing this because it just happened to me again, at the endConversation with the console in the minefield control station. I'll put together a save and keep refreshing it- if it happens again I'll see if it repos and submit it with a bug. No idea why @Sillls saw it without a conversation but both times I have it's been right at the end of one.
I've gotten it several times, mostly when talking to NPC's like the Bartender at the Inferno Club, but was immersed in the game and failed to note when & when for a bug report. {Sigh}
The one place I've consistently seen this message come up is when the bartender at the Inferno Club gives you the Epic Drill. When you exit dialogue with him, the message is displayed. It's not the only point during the main story line that does it, but it's usually the first, and has always happened in each run through I've done on 1.5.
