Hi, Not a formal bug report, but wanted to check if this was a known issue or not. I built the maximum allowed number of Large Solar Panels, turned off ALL devices in my base then slept during the day to allow things to charge up before I started some Production, Deconstruction and Furnace jobs going. My BA was ticking up 1 point of battery charge every second (at least) so should have had plenty of charge of eight game hours sleeping during the day. However, the Base's battery level did not go up more than a couple of points, literally a few seconds worth of charge - the time it took to check the level, sleep, and check the level again. Can others confirm this? I've just loaded my save so this isn't one of the weird long-session gremlins where things randomly stop working. Scoob.
I think it has to do with how time is calculated during sleep while other time relying game features are calculated by time intervals.
Sleeping is supposed to correctly calculate all constructor jobs, plants growing, power usage, etc, etc. So if it's not calculating correctly it's a bug with the calculations (which we already know are bugged, but the devs can't seem to track it).
Time passing during sleep has always been a little wonky, but I'd expect it to be a little more accurate than it's proving to be currently. It's not bad with Construction queues these days, a bit hit or miss with plant growing - sleeping longer than a plant's growth cycle doesn't mean the plant will be grown when you wake - and largely broken with Solar again. Solar seems to work fine for a while, then something breaks it again. Dunno what's going on behind the scenes for s seemingly fixed issue to appear again. I guess the devs are aware that something isn't quite right here, just hope they can find the route cause. I suspect the change to be able to sleep any time is what's upset things. Scoob.
Something doesn't calculate properly, Ive noticed that spice and herbal leaves don't grow if I leave the playfield but the rest of my garden does. I think these may be related.
Sleeping/ being away seems to cause all sorts of inconsistencies still. I'm still reluctant to be away from my base / CV for extended periods as things might go horribly wrong. Scoob.
Mod furnaces and deconstructors to work on a CV then you dont have to be away from 'base' - problem solved - Sleeping still seemed borked half the time in my experience. Still get huge inexplicable power drain sometimes when sleeping with the end result that a week supply of fuel disappears in a few hours despite nothing of significance on (including repair stations/bays and teleporters). I must admit I keep forgetting about sleeping in the day so I have not noticed solar issues, but would not be surprised.
