I don't mind going on, no problem. I know you think everyone is stupid, but you will have to admit at some point that you enjoy all this, hence why you can't resist pushing it forward once again, while softly pretending you don't want to. But I understand, because when someone indulges in lies and manipulation, the complexity of it all adds up after a while, but just like everyone else you want to know the truth hiding behind all this, and your methods are ill suited for that objective. You want to know if (water frickles) will have a significant impact on performance. You stress that point by suggesting all kinds of things but your point is about performance. Point taken. Hypothesis : Eleon will introduce "fluid water" at some point. This will have significant impact on performance. Added to an hypothetical performance impact of (superficial water frickles). You think this is off-topic ? Let's go on. If (water frickles) are applied as a shader method to a plane at the top of the "water" zone, then when water becomes fluid and "fills holes" dug besides the original water volume, (water frickles) still has to affect newly created volume. But if newly created volume is not defined by a plane, like the main water volume is, how will (water frickles) expand to that zone ? So either this (water frickles) thing is going to be useless at that point, or (fluid water) was not in the plans but still subjected to player's vote in surveys. Or some 3rd option I can't logically think of. Could also be that what we see in the video is new fluid water, but a post by @Kaeser on the other thread points against that.
At that point I can see clearly how someone was making lots of noise about so-called concerns regarding "performance", but at the bottom of this there was just an interest to hide ignorance by drawing attention towards someone else. And it's too bad, because there is a genuine concern to be had here, but not merely on "performance"...
My fears about the development have come through, this game will never become what a lot of us hoped. The desired functions are still not implemented, but only cosmetic distraction. I changed my review to negative on Steam! Should have probably changed it with A8 or something, that's when it started to go real messy. And then on top ... I return to the forums, i really WANT to give this a chance. But nothing has changed for the better... Look at this thread for instance: totally ruined by a TROLL, that has roamed these forums for years, and clearly make things look even worse for the devs... IM OUTTA HERE!
That sentence makes no sense, just like you. I can't be constantly called "white knight" then just because you lack grease in your gears turn suddenly into someone that "make things look even worse for the devs". You're not in their heads, don't try telling us what's going on in there. I think you want to benefit from both sides of the coins : criticize the game, and blame a random player for this to avoid blaming the developers directly. So if you change your mind/ review somewhere along the way then you can still hope the devs will consider your opinion. Nice try. So yes, enjoy your break. Divisive players, accusators, paranoids, can take a break and enjoy life outside this bubble for a while.
Water surface looks definitely better. It seems to me that water levels are lower than usual. Plants used to be underwater, now they show quite a bit. I'd like less distortion while underwater. The image is waving around too much for my delicate stomac (sorry). Ripples are not visible while flying a HV in exterior view (V key). It would be nice to see a water ripple just in front of the hovercraft. A small one. HV also tend to sink more than before.
If someone here thinks EGS is the only game that struggles with Water effects... Think again -> https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2015516575
