    We don't want to spoil too much here, so let's just say that the new game start has been completely reworked and may be very different from the previous game experience in the default scenario.

    Especially for players who have been in the game for a while, there might be some new strategies that can be pursued on the way up into space. Without giving too much away, it can be said that the starting playfield will not be limited to just one celestial body and that exploration will play a more important role than in previous game start versions. However, as always, there are shortcuts for those who want to quickly launch into the galaxy ;) .

    The primary test focus of this first phase is about the content of the new tutorial (please see the notes below!) as well as the content of the planets (poi, quests, etc) on the Temperate Moon named Akua.

    All other starter moons are playable in principle, but not yet tuned for survivability. HOWEVER, we also look forward to your play experience on the Snow, Barren, and Alien Swamp starter moons. Maybe their current setup is already interesting? Let us know right here

    Debugging notes - PLEASE READ FIRST!

    The PDA list in the tutorial and story tab has MANY entries visible! Do not get confused by them as they are merely for debugging and will vanish in the final version. That being said, when you are STUCK in a mission, like something in the PDA list on the right is not “closing”, open the PDA and take a screenshot of the list and the mission that is stuck/not resolving and add it to your feedback. Thx in advance!


    Known issues:

    • You CAN start on Snow, Barren and Alien Swamp starter moons BUT they are not yet fully set up for “survivability” in terms of resources, animals etc. Would be great to hear your feedback (and suggestions!) about their CURRENT state anyways! :)

    • The first Tales of Tash log you find is possibly too low in volume and in german language. This is for EXP and for all non-english players to test if the text displayed can help to understand EVEN if you cannot follow the text that is voiced over! (Will be changed in the final version, though.)

    • There are videos and pictures marked with WiP or visible not finalized. Will be changed.

    • Quest item found messages might sometimes not be correct. (often happens when more than one quest is active on the same POI)

    • FPS visible on game start video. Ignore. (All video and sound materials are added to show different art directions that can be explored for different situations, e.g. if you like different voices more than others or different visual experiences. Let us know!!)

    • PDA tutorial tab has a lot of entries. Ignore. All of these are just visible for testing to see where things might break. All of them will be hidden in the final version (see ‘Debugging Notes’ above!).

    • All pickup-missions are active even when declining help at game start. This is set for testing in EXP so you can send in more feedback. See ‘Debugging Notes’ above!

    each quest dialog now has a closable white box in the middle between the message and my answer. what is this and why is it white?

    A white box? There should be a picture or video. Can you make a screenshot of this situation plz? Thx!

    oh, sorry, i don't see it anymore. just the top text box and the bottom answer box as before. it was taking all the space between them, it was all white and had a close button in the upper right corner. appeared in every dialog with consoles and NPCs. i will check if it will appear again when i start a new game.

    yes, it reproduces immediately from the start of a new game, then it goes away eventually. maybe on reload.

    Some quick feedback on Akua! Started a game there, thought it looks amazing. Overall like the changes to the story. However, I did notice that nothing attacked me. Not the ancient cyborgs (they just wandered up to me and stared) nor the aggressive dinosaurs near the ruins. I even went up to them and they just looked at me. Not sure if this was intentional or a bug (I've just flown to Skillon and got attacked by bugs there, so doesn't seem to be a general AI problem with my save).

    Possibly try to verify your steam files. Seems like the asset placed here is not loaded correctly .. for whatever reason. IF this persist, please make a bug ticket and add your System specs there (which HDD you use etc).

    This new tutorial is awful, in the old version there was a popup in the upper corner giving clues on what to DO next. In this new "thing" it's totally random and unhelpful, throwing info at you that may or may not be relevant to what you are doing at the time.

    The step by step method was much friendlier. All in all aside from the incredible graphical overhaul this update seems like a giant step backwards.

    Now I could just play it without the tutorial but I thought the purpose for the rework was to make it easier to play not harder to figure out what was supposed to be next?

    I took a video of the Damaged Cyborgs being non-hostile - even shrunk to 25% the file is too large.

    The logs for SOLO and TUTORIAL, tho' setup for ease in reporting issues are to crazy with all the listings showing now.
    Active missions HAVE NOT shown for me like old days on the right side. I finished PEST CONTROL and did not even know I was doing it at it first.
    Also, a few things even tho' active have not triggered events. For now I can name most I found this at:
    PEST CONTROL
    STORY LINE QUEST ( I ve had to review the computer a few times to see the ' pop ' take affect??
    I apparently earned some respect with Talon, and a token. But no visual of it in inventory? Is that a change?

    HOUSEKEEPING GRIPE:

    FOOD: In Akua, granted we do not want to overburden the system.. but you can literally take anything from any farm and never worry. Talon doesn't care. Personally.. thats a bit silly. No issue at all finding every seed to grow everything myself after one or two visits. Annoying!

    TO EASY VEHICLES: There are literally so many abandoned HV and a few SV you can trip over, you literally are like visiting a used car lot. No ' reward ' feeling.. nor challenge in getting your first vehicle up.

    ON MEDIUM settings.. I have yet to encounter a single opponent out of looking for nasties. The starting system is amazing.. the planets and moons are amazing.. but there is zero element of hardship right now. :-/ To friendly a world. The Talon do not even gripe I come in and mine before they know me.. LOL.
    Hard to be tested.

    I second this. The only CYBORG that engaged me at all was one. Two others just walk around going beep beep.
    Nobody said boo when I killed the one agro'd.

    I have not screened any myself.. but like.. nobody is agro'ing. I ve had one cyborg ( see above start trouble )
    Talon does not even ding you for taking crops, mining, opening and taking the baskets content.
    I ve not even seen a Zirx at all yet. Not a one.
    Playing Medium settings.. only change to game setting was DRONE ATTACK TO BASE: Low.

    I finally got myself to really probing out of the system in testing and the AGRO ISSUE vanished. Just in the starter moons zone I cannot ( and not just me it seems ) get agro other than some random makes no sense.
    But back in the old systems and everything works just fine.

    On return to starter system, nobody cares I am there, not dino's, not cyborgs. Nobody.

    When you enter the portable constructor for the first time you get a message about base building which plays out by ticker tape effect, typing itself onto the screen before you get the chance to either engage with it or dismiss it.

    This ticker tape effect is a nuisance way of doing it, it wastes time and breaks the flow of play, the player needs to be able to read at their own speed and have a dismiss or engage option there immediately.

    A ticker tape effect is frustrating hinderance, not helpful and does not add enough to justify its use.

    You can right-click to stop the ticker tape effect and just make all the text display at once, so you can read at your own pace. There's an icon somewhere that tells you this, but it's small and easy to miss.

    I read very fast, so I use this a lot. o_O

    Yes you are right, I had forgotten about that.

    Like using the shift modifier to open loot and take all, its not obvious but very useful once you twig.
