Here is another example of what sounds like the same problem, when in 3rd person view and skimming across flat terrain in a simple hover vehicle, the POV flickers between two different angles and the craft jumps up and down on the screen, almost every other frame.

In 1st person cockpit view it is steady, no problems at all, but in third person it flickers more the closer the HV flies to the surface and reduces at full hover height but can still occur.

Is that only when strafing left like when walking?

No but its worse going sideways than forward or back. Possibly because my HV is longer than wide, so there is more chance of collision.

Also there is a bias one side over the other if the terrain is sloped, even slightly, so that one side is higher than the other. As the HV runs into the higher terrain it makes the camera POV jump more than if it is strafing onto lower terrain.

I was thinking it seems to be to do with collision detection causing the camera to shift POV, causing this flickering behaviour.
