Hey, the admin faction in EAH is only to tell EAH which faction should be used for certain functions. Or which players/factions should be protected from restrictions etc. You have to create it first ingame and then enter the 3 letters of the abbreviation in EAH
trying to install reforged eden 1.9 atlantis into my gportal server but the content folder doesnt have that mod but it does have the reforged eden mod; i am subscribed n favorited on it in steam!!!
given i dont understand fully the proper way to transfer files using filezilla; i did another attempt with just the reforged eden 1.9 file following the instructions verbatim yet when i go into the game i get only 4 planets!!! i did the binary thing n renamed the file after installation so not sure why i only get 4 planets when i thought it was supposed to be 16 for the reforged eden 1.9?
I have started a multiplayer server on g-portal for friends. When starting on Akua none of the farms or plantations have NPCs to talk to for the quests, none of the POI sites exist (bunker, dig site, scientist camp..) and the TOT datapads don't activate on pickup. Is this normal on multiplayer, a bug or setting somewhere?
I don't u dnerstand what I am doing wrong, it picked up the settings of the server but two things aren't working: 1. I click "Game' under config and i get a huge list of errors. 2. It doesn't see people online, nor can I get the power ICON to turn green.
If the settings are incorrect then EAH cannot connect to the server either. Fix the error in the yaml files of the game to continue. You can paste the Error here and I can tell you what it is. Might be that you entered a wrong property or spelled it wrong.
So I have a few issues: 1. The playerlist doesn't work, it shows whose been on the server, but not who is currently online. 2. The admin helper constantly loses connection to the Telnet connection 3. Half the features don't work correctly, such as: Whose online, chat, pretty much everything under logs/statistics. 4. Backup (i am using Veeam for now to backup my server.) It seems that I can use it to basically start the server, and edit config files. But not stop/kill or anything else. So I am just sticking to manually starting/stopping the server. Everything that has to to do with the log/stats doesn't work at all. It seems this tool was written for people running servers on different third-party vendor hosts, i am self hosted, on a dedicated host machine.. I am not entirely sure why 90% of the features are not working for me on the tool. Does the tool have issues with Windows 2022? I installed latest of netframework, does it require a specific version of C++ runtime? The telnet port is correct, the API port matches in the config.txt files. Is there something else I can check and see why this isn't working correctly? Should I delete the EPM directory and start from scratch, should I try the lite version?
Hey, if you are using telnet and set the telnet port, then you got the wrong tool. And that could explain the issues. If you say you entered telnet port then you might have downloaded the LITE Version. That one is only for liek you said "3rd party hosted" servers. Please download the Full Version instead (its also free) and you should have way less issues
ANother question: How do I create the CB:Survival kit or turn it on, I don't see an option for it. I try it and it says "disabled on this server" Sorry if I am being annoying, I am relatively new to being a server admin. First time I ever administered Empyrion.
See here: https://eah.empyrion-homeworld.net/documentation/flyout-menu/config/chat-bot CB:Survival (Full) --> Gives the player a survival kit, once every full-wipe (fresh start in config). You can set in the config how much credits he should get. If you want to give him items instead/additionaly just create a Survival.xml in the template folder and put all the items in there. You can use the "Item Template Generator" function to create that xml. (Features->Template) https://eah.empyrion-homeworld.net/documentation/flyout-menu/features
CB:Survival enables it self either when you add "Survival Money" in the Config > Chat/Chatbot or when you add this XML File Jascha explained above Without either one of those 2, the command is disabled
Is there some detailed documentation on what files EAH is using? I have two saves, lets call them (A) and (B) Trying to get it to start the older save (B) but the EAH defaults back to the settings used for the first game (A) I copied the EAH folder to make the changes for settings files. under "D:\Servers\empyrion\DedicatedServer\EmpyrionAdminHelper2" I have deleted the backupfolder, copied config contents from backup with old save (B) In the Gamedat folder I changed the referenses from (A) to (B) in the yaml. Yet still the EAH has it's info stored somewhere else and reads in (A)'s name and settings on launch. (and writes those settings back to Gamedat and Config folder) Edit. Think I might have found it. now it uses the DedicatedEAH.yaml from the empyrionroot, I know I started with changing that file but seems like EAH reads and replaces from each of the three files?
You have to set up EAH from scratch to make sure he does not read any files from theold save. Or, you have to set the Dediucated.yaml setting in EAH and afterwards delete all "data" folders and dbs in the EAH folder. But for that you would have to know which ones.
Is a bit counter-productive to have a adminhelper in need of a helper, wouldn't it be much more easy to handle if -all- settings regarding EAH and the server-settings being contained under the EmpyrionAdminHelper folder to make it easy to manage multiple instances? (and make backups of things) Maybe something to poke and suggest the EAH team about?
