    Hey all,

    Need some help with this.

I had a starter HV docked to my CV. Last session, I totally dismantled said HV. Now, the marker for it stuck around that session, like it usually does (long-standing minor bug) but I thought no more of it.

I saved the game last night and reloaded it again today and, the old HV marker was no longer present as expected. I move some distance from my CV and, when returning, noticed the marked was back but in red. Most odd but, again, thought little of it. However, I can no longer more my CV as the game incorrectly thinks there's an undocked vessel blocking it. There IS no vessel, ALL parts were removed many hours ago.

How can I unstick my CV here? There IS NO other vessel to get the ID of and destroy via console commands. The marker for the HV - I know it's the HV as I simply named in "Miner" is present, underneath where it was once docked when it existed. However, I have to be some distance away before it shows up. Getting close and looking around to see if my HUD changes (MT equipped) has yielded nothing so far.

    Any ideas?

Edit: I came up with a solution, this post still isn't moderated though, so you'll see the solution when you see the post. Basically, I cut out a chunk of the CV where the HV was before it was dismantled. The HV had its own spot, on the outside of the CV. The old invalid marker showed the HV as laying on the ground beneath the CV, but chopping out everything that would have once supported it seemed to do the trick. We'll see if the marker appears again. It seems that it'd appear, then vanish when I got close, only to appear again the moment I entered the CV's cockpit. Weird.

That kind of sounds like the desynch issue people have been having with OPVs where the game thinks they are in a different location until you get close to their map marker.

Out of curiosity, did you try using the 'ents -all' console command to see if you could get its ID that way?

I can't remember if you can use cb commands in single player, but there is likely a way to teleport your cv away from the invisible hv. If this happens again, that's easier than cutting a chunk out of your ship.

I totally forgot how to use any of the teleportation stuff, so cutting a hole in ship seemed the quickest solution :)

You cant use cb commands but you can use the 'setposition' console command.

Thanks, I think I made a note of various console commands...somewhere lol. Still, this is the first time I've had this issue with a deleted vessel, hopefully it was a one-off. But I will remember "setposition" for the future.

Shenanigans like this are why I always undock the HV/SV first and park it away from the CV entirely before dismantling it.

I'd often do exactly the same thing, often parking it on open ground to strip it down. I simply wasn't thinking when I started doing it while docked at a CV. Didn't expect it to glitch out though of course. That said, I've dismantled starting HV's and SV's while they're docked to a Base many a time without issue. Still, I'll put it down to a random one-off...unless it happens again.

Yes, bases don't move so that's usually not a problem.

Personally I'm always too worried I'll take out a block on something I didn't intend to so I always do this sort of thing out away from any other stuff.

The underlying issue though is that for some reason a completely disassembled anything isn't being completely removed from the game like it should.

It's funny, it really was an anomaly for me to disassemble something that's docked, I usually do all the same things you do. I think I was just being lazy.

I did think something might be wrong when, after dismantling the HV, I didn't get the usual thing where the marker for the now-gone HV would repeatedly fall through the ground and reset above it.

At least I've proven that that usually adhered to personal rule regarding dismantling stuff is worth sticking to in order to avoid such weirdness.
