    Hello Empyrionans!

Been playing Empyrion for the past week and I really enjoy it. But I really would love a texture mod, and since there is none around I thought to make one myself.
Been searaching the forums and trying to find some good info on how to do it, but the results are either very old or not complete.

So the questions is; What are the steps to mod textures for the game?

And; Can I use the pack I will make and still play the vanilla game/story with it?

    Textures can't be modded

I think the game and the community would benefit a lot from making this available

The texture atlas is full. For example for steel and combat steel no new ones can be added
So it has no point in having it moddable atm. Would only be a benefit if that limitation gets lifted

You would need to remove existing textures, what breaks all blueprints on the workshop and in game

A whole new set of Armor Blocks need to be created if you dont want to break anything existing

I see, but I guess having that atlas being modable would be the only way then. Let's say a texture pack mod replaces the current atlas, in that case it shouldn't break the blueprints and so on.
I work as an artist in a game dev studio myself, so it just felt like an interesting project to try to mod the textures a bit. I also love the game and have almsot 100h in it :)

If you replace the current atlast then all blueprints do not have anymore the textures it has
So yes it still break all the blueprints since they are build with the current textures and they are gone
Might not look good anymore, same for the default POIs

Neither you can replace the atlas as this is part of the game and restricted by our ToS

I have played this game since first release and can say that with the various development and release versions that textures on some items have gone from OK to woeful, to so outright hideous that I stop playing for a while. Currently in game textures are a mix of ok, hiddeous, some woeful and some that just make me sick in the stomach to look at them.

AND before you reply, I am ALSO a texture artist so don't start with the "Oh if you think you can do better". I Can do better, with one hand glued to the desk and one eye poked out.

Access to the textures files would be appreciated, as has been asked countless times over the years and years. :)
