Build: 1.11.9 4541 Mode: Creative/Survival Mode: Single Player/Multi Player Platform: Steam DLC Installed: Installed, not active on save Reproducibility: Always Severity: Trivial Type: Deconstructor Summary: Any item containing an odd number of mechanical parts will not deconstruct into enough steel plates to rebuild the original item Description: Most handheld weapons and a few devices contain an odd number of mechanical parts. Since the recipe for mechanical parts is 1 plate = 2 parts, an item like the Projectile Pistol will take 2.5 plates. The deconstructor will only return whole numbers of plates, so you get back 2. This leaves you a" half a plate" short of being able to re-construct the pistol. Affects: Projectile Pistol, SMG, Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Sniper Rifle, Laser Pistol, Assault Shotgun, Minigun, Laser Rifle, Drill Module T2 Laser (SV), Gatling Gun, Small Constructor, Medic Station (HV), Gravity Generator Blocks (BACV), Land Claim Device, Offline Protection, Cockpits, Cockpits (Armored), RCS (HV), Thruster S (SV) Either the recipes of the above devices need to be altered to an even number of mechanical components, or mechanical components need to not deconstruct back into steel plates (I would vote for the latter). Steps to Reproduce: Place any of the above listed devices into a deconstructor and let it process Assign a constructor to the decon output box and try to rebuild the device. You will not be able to. Add 1x mechanical component to the output box. You can now rebuild the device. Screenshots: Example of materials deconstructed from a CV/BA gravity generator. You cannot rebuild the item from what is produced: After adding 1 more mechanical component, you can now build it:
It because of steel plates and mechanical components. MC need 1 ST and it produce 2 MC. Impossible to produce 5 MC (you can build only 2-4-6-etc). To construct the Gravity generator using the materials what you have from deconstructor you miss one ST. Also deconstructor return the "level 1" materials - it is intended. Not a bug...
I suggest tweaking the recipes that require such materials, even if it makes them slightly more expensive. Just to get rid of the inconvenience. I believe there's some Zascosium Alloy recipe similar to this. Building a blueprint and recycling it doesn't give enough materials to rebuild it. (Not 100% sure on this one though)
