Since the parts needed to make an HV usable seem so far to be a tad too clumsy to make a real speeder bike, I decided to go the other way and build a proper Hover Tank to take out the remaining PoIs on Ningues. Here's the Imperial "Bumblebee" Main Battle Tank. (My small HV is called "Hornet" and my Fighter SV "Mantis", so it fits, I guess.)
This is what I had built on the snow planet to take out POIs too. Tanks are fun with their long range turrets... just need a spotter with a sniper rifle "5 degrees left"! Although my shots I have are from akue surface... so the white paint doesnt' work well.
Yes, I'm relatively new to the game (Alpha 1) so did Akua initially, but have developed a slight preference for Omicron. Madness ? quite possibly
There are circumstances that they will still shoot at you through the terrain, you should submit that to the devs as per their instructions just incase. I've only had it once where they simply shot through a hill at me. I think it has something to do with clipping, the weapon is outside the normal clip box (embedded in the terrain) and can see you through the world as such. Naughty naughty aliens
I like that, the armor plates here and there are clever too, I'm just not sure what the one sloped panel on the back is (rear view) (pale outline dark colour mostly)
I spend most of today's game time designing industrial scale vital parts of my mothership. Here is the main reactor connected to fuel cells (each with it's own cooling tower), I may go for large reactors because they are 1 blocks longer, so entire device will have better proportions: Here are the jump drives, not sure which one I will eventually choose: Here are the thrusters, they will be placed externally, few of them per every axis:
This looks awesome. I am myself probably too smitten with a love for efficiency to ever create such elaborate fittings for the functional devices, but I greatly admire your creativity.
I just realised that the back of my bigger jump drive have the same shape and dimensions as the energy generator, so I can combine them into one, more complex machinery! that finally will start to look complicated enough...
