Today I finished this SV Named "The Swallow", not so much for its elegant lines or graceful flight, but rather the bitter pill I have swallowed by deciding that now that it is blueprinted, it will be completely torn down and recycled into a smaller, more economical and less of a pain in the rear to repair SV... Pros: That view ! I would love to be able to use this with Track IR, or even just to own a Track IR for that matter... Ease of access. Everything is right where you need it. There is a ramp to get up into its belly, and from there another ramp to access the passenger cabin The passengers get their own bar fridge, because why not... Passengers have a good view of the world too - best enjoyed while sipping fermented lizard mule milk. It looks interesting, and is actually quite nice to use. and it has nice touches like air intakes to the Atmo thrusters.. Cons: Quite thirsty It's a huge target, not much of a challenge for the alien turrets to hit ps: I have spotted some janky windows which need to be rotated so their frames are less jarring (and / or match their symmetry counterparts), and I will probably re fit the two rear facing spotlights which make opening the rear hatch in dark environments seem a lot safer
Playing around with customizing planets now. Hopefully I can get as advanced as others I've seen but here is my new planet I call SuperEarth.
I took a capital ship to a planet, flew directly towards the ground at top speed, then bounced off the planet in a comical fashion without a scratch before getting shredded by an Epsilon outpost. just because.
I started to build an idea I had for a different kind of SV ... but then once I got into it, decided it was junk and turned it scrap.
Thanks!! The ship is from star gate and was created by boanerges929 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=700915317&searchtext=stargate I love Stargate and fly some of these stargate ships created my other users.
Made a new outpost while playing on Hard On steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=750401738
Start simple & humble, work your way up. *Snickers at the Gun sitting on top of a foolishly small amount of Support for it...* (Where's the ROFL Emote when ya need it?)
Thank you ! Like anything in life, practice helps For every one ok ship i make there are probably 2 that were binned or just never finished. So just keep at it and mostly just have fun
I built my second SV (the first was not very good and was shot down over an alien base), took it up into orbit on it's maiden flight, re-entered atmosphere and my client kicked me to the desktop. I logged back in while falling from a great height but survived thanks to my jump jets, the ship was lost however. Not happy about that.
I "popped my cherry" and left Akura for the first time... in my own, built-from-scratch survival mode SV!!!! (What can I say? Still a newbie at this)
I've seen worse on official POI in the game, where only one single rocket can bring the whole structure down. At least his does have a fair amount of blocks touching it and given the current SA whimsy, is fairly robust.
