Which leads us nicely to this : Official steam workshop blurb..... Meet "Kirst", the very first SV to be built in our Mako Shark Carrier (Have another Vodka) Part camper van and part rabid pitbull, this SV is intended for exploration and mining, but can hold it's own in a fire fight thanks to the 3 lasers and 4 rocket launchers. It cames standard with the weapons as mentioned Two O2 tanks (accessed via PDA) Two fuel tanks (accessed via PDA) Two storage containers (accessed via PDA or from inside the cabin) One ammo container (accessed via PDA or from inside the cabin) One fridge (accessed via PDA or from inside the cabin) One small constructor (accessed via PDA or from inside the cabin) The new shutter door and access ramp system make access simple The cockpit is all armoured glass and offers a fairly decent view. There is some disagreement over whether it was named after the engineers ex girlfriend or the old Estonian word for coffin.... Compact, economical and fun to fly, we trust this ship will soon find a loved place in your fleet. As always feel free to like, rate up, subscribe, comment. Just don't redistribute as your own. If you do make mods, let me know as I would love to see. ......End Official Blurb Thoughts: I'm actually really pleased with this, the interior is lacking, it's rough and functional, and may get reworked, but the view from the cockpit makes me smile for some reason. If you are wanting a totally OTT fighter, look elsewhere maybe, this has rather pleasing flight characteristics (in my opinion) weaker front thrust makes for some inertia which I like, just enough RCS also gives it a nice roll rate, not sluggish and not twitchy, i like it. I'm sorry the rear shutter door fits poorly and leaks, I have made a suggestion post asking for side guide rails to be added to shutter doors. The access ramp is awesome, thank you devs for that, i get a kick out of opening and closing those two items
Nah, you're good. We don't have anything named "Mako Shark", specifically. And for security purposes none of our stuff is on the workshop.
I figured I'd share my work in progress tribute to the Abaddon battleship from Eve. The exterior is close to done, the interior is FAR from done lol. But I figure I'll still show it.
I thought I'd share some pics of my newest "super capital" build. I spawned a T3 Cv next to it to give a sense of the size. My ship is roughly 117,000 blocks so far. I'm currently working on the interior, which is quite daunting. I thought it looked big on the outside, but detailing the inside is like trying to build a small city lol. And yes, it can take off from a planet, but the fuel use is quite rough (15-20k fuel to take off from Akua).
That looks like a big pile of dedicated long work, its really huge. =) My main concern with such big ships is the lag. I mean this ship will never be usable in a fight when, lets say 15 fighter attack it and you defend yourself with 5 fighters (multiplayer), because the lag will make it impossible to move.
Hehe, yes quite a lot of time. And did you mean the ship would be helpless in a fight, or did you mean the sheer size of the ship would create enough lag to make the entire encounter unplayable. it turned out to be a much more epic task than I thought it was going to be.
Yeah I've made one "mega" build so far and I think it burned me out. It was fun and challenging -- but I'm pretty sure I don't wanna do it again. Yours looks to be shaping up well!
I'm really sorry, It isn't done yet, but it's been such a long time since I've build anything, and the damn paintjob is killing me :O SV - no name yet - 68-69t - inspiration = one of my old CV's
New to the game and there are some great designs in this thread. My "spacecraft carrier" looks like a undersized landing craft compared to you guys . Which is why I hope we can someday dock CVs with CVs so I can build a mothership. BTW do Docking Pads/Landing Gear only dock with CV's if they are under the SV/HV? Or can we put them on top and hang them from the rafters like a TIE Fighter/Star Fury? Some of my designs: [
I kept forgetting to test that out, been meaning to... but now i'm currently in middle of my Empyrion Break.
Thanks, yeah actually flies quite allright without burning too much fuel well guy's that had to be tested and verified asap so here u go = it works with docking pads as they can be flipped, but not with other landing gear (my new ship has pads both at the top and bottom)
Cool. Good to know. I was intending to create a SV ground assault craft, but a couple hours later I stood back and realized what I had created, and I was horrified. I went with it anyway.
Another angle with higher settings, but I'm in the middle of a remodel and adding more to the deck. I'd like to get done before publishing the bp. Right now the paint is only there for references and identifying thin spots in the armor for reinforcement. It currently has 60 Plasma, 60 Minigun, and 17 Artillery turrets. Not sure if all these turrets are a bonus, a detriment, or just pointless, but it looks cool IMO. I'm calling it a Man-O-War class, aka the USS Death Blossom
