When last we left off our intrepid adventurer was facing a grim situation with enemy drones converging from all sides while he sought protection from the dubious shelter of a Talon village. The first drone to make it's approach fired off a rocket, blowing a hole in the side of a hut. The villagers did nothing. Several more rockets landed taking out bits of flooring and huts and hitting several Talons but they seemed not to notice. So yeah, I didn't manage to start a war. Since the drones were filtering in one by one they were easily dispatched. I popped the HV and that served as a lure which allowed me to ambush the rest of the drones as they came in....not that I really needed it. After they had stopping coming I looted every container in the village and dropped it into the HV's storage. The Talon villagers didn't care about THAT either. And I managed to avoid getting perforated by Talon spears. Currently digging a hole in the ground across the bay from the Abandoned mine. I've made it large enough to back my HV into and around a corner so it's not sitting out there to get shot to pieces by drone patrols. Going to continue digging and build a very basic base deep underground. That will let me build ammo, turrets, and other weapons of war in peace. Once that's done.....we assault the mine!
Digging! I was going to take over the Abandoned mine and make that into a base but I'm giving serious thought to making the underground base more permanent. I've got iron, promethium, silicon, and magnesium all within close proximity to each other(with silicon in the middle). I could build the base in the middle and have branching tunnels out to each ore deposit. I can expand the shallow entry tunnel to be more of a proper garage area for the HV and have some cannon turrets at the entry point for protection.
Good Man, keep it up That's a really nice area you found there, care to find the seed for us like-minded diggers? In other news, owing to the fact that we have given ourselves so many ships & things to build, we haven't much ready for public consumption yet other than the review and re-launch of the Orca lineup. When we looked at our range from a survival point of view, we had a gap in the entry-level warp capable class, and the smallest of our capital vessels was ideal for the task. with the removal of high end weaponry and thrusters, and the conversion of the vessel to standard steel hull, we were able to bring down both the total resource cost and required skill levels quite drastically. Also added to the Mk1 model (pictured below) are two large constructors to reprocess all that lovely ore on the way home. With the addition of a new mid-tier vessel in the same line (coming soon) we now feel we have a full range of small, warp capable, exploration/light combat vessels to suit your needs and skills Enjoy
I think the seed is 24998. This is the last game I created/loaded and that's the current seed in the new game parameters. I'd set ore deposits to rich/plenty which is part of the reason why they're grouped up like that.
I wish they were in a form I could Integrate into my SVs in a way like a Armored Thruster. With that said, that SV does look cool, & i'm not saying that just cause i'm shamelessly biased toward the color Blue. Also doesn't help that I haven't Raided POIs in ages & when I used to was in SP Solo play. Hell, it's been ages since the last time i've played not dummy testing use SP Version of this game. Wow... those Talon Guardians must be really air-headed... XD
If they only had a brain. Maybe they'll add some better AI to those guys in the future. At the very least they should turn hostile if you take their stuff.
Here here. If I turned around in my Base & saw someone's grubby paw in my Constructors takin my stuff, it'd be Minigun time! The NPCs? They act like they can't even see the grubby paw in their Containers.
I was reengineering a lot of my prior ships, fixing some issues, spotting the ever existing 'missed texture' and fixing those too. Then a new experimental build comes out that makes every ship behave and fly great again without me needing to have to do anything So... my day was productively unproductive.
Nonsense! Your efforts (& the efforts of others) made the Fixes possible, you're a Big Damn Hero! (& so is the other peeps!)
sounds familiar started updating another prefab which was very high on my list, even if it isn't used ingame atm. it's not only using old blocks, at some point the devs copy-pasted one thing too many: in case you're wondering - yes, that's a drone base hugging the prefab. so after cleaning that up, adjusting all the lights to not burn a hole in ppl's retinas I wanted to replace some blocks but then stumbled upon this: alpha blocks have a color not in the color tool (tried both steel and wood, curious if that changes anything - nope). wasn't the first time that happened, but it wasn't so severe before: for some reason some alpha blocks have a "whiter" white as default than the color tool - probably since the day they lost their color completely, which makes some prefabs look quite strange. for example the talos parts on akua now have a lot of white spots everywhere where blocks lost their color (which reminds me, @Hummel-o-War do you want me to update the talos parts to the new blocks? it's either that or fixing the alpha block color... ) in the meantime gonna update the lights on the updated thermica station, completely forgot about that the first time. also spent a good 30 minutes finding out the name for the alpha windows, cba to replace all of those especially since those should be convertible (unlike corners etc.). and found some bugs and other stuff with godmode, wonder to file a bugreport for those or just put it in a suggestion together...
i ... did nothing much i destroyed a part of an ore deposit visited two bases made by my faction colleges on the mp server and put the CV i am working on atm in the faction there to start testing stuff and designing the interior + all whats needed and is not at the outside (like warpdrive and tank air constuctors etc etc) its basically just a hull atm. I did not get to my HV design i am working in parallel to the CV and is a part of the CV carried stock. I want to design some svs atm so really atm so maybe i do that, because i want to test the jet engines and bigger svs then my mantis build, which is really small especially compared to the standart blueprin vessels(its even smaller than the tier1 bp). The main idea was that it will be tillting itself in the direction of the rear so it only needs a hard propultion there and can use soft propulsion in every other direction, but i tested it now completly, its working pretty good and i want to do some other designs with the new information i got on small trusters and autorotaion/-tillting (rotation of the vihilce while it is unmanned).
Tonight was quite productive, The Master Shipbuilder had taken it on himself to re-work some of our smaller vessels to be used as purely atmospheric craft. Released today for general use are the Krait-A Mk1, the Manta-A Mk1, the Mace-A Mk1, and the Moray-A Mk1. Phew, that's quite a few . The Krait becoms the fastest little runabout going, with a new centreline jet which frankly, dwarfs the cockpit. It's still super-kawaii though The Mace had some of it's structure replaced with wings, and two large jets replace the outer pods, giving it a nice amount of thrust and slightly better agility. The Manta as well becomes engorged with jet thrusters, it's a recon ship that's got speed and agility to boot. The Moray becomes a heavy strike fighter, with two wing mounted and a central medium jet, and uprated weaponry. Here's an overview
Decided to start a new Survival game a few days ago, and continued on it today. So far up to level 17 or so, with two HVs, an SV, and a BA, with my CV in the Factory. Been using the Furetta Ascia as a starter HV, since it is remarkably fast yet affordable, and comes with a Gatling Gun, a Harvester, several boxes and fridges, and a basic turret. I also built a NightShade to act as a BattleTank until I can build a bigger one. The SV is a Sparrow Mk2, which performs reasonably well as a personal transport, not much of a fighter tho. Did a fair bit of mining to get resources for the CV, and took out the NightShade light assault tank and toppled two Epsilon Fortresses. The NightShade performed remarkably well for only have a few Minigun Turrets, a lone Rocket Turret, and 4 Gatling Guns, and only took about 4% total damage from the worst of the two fights. Manueverability plays a big role, as well as the ability to use the Gatling guns to specifically target and shoot out turrets, drones, etc.
THANKS... It was suppose to be a SV hover bike at first but decided to slap the new SV engines on it and it became something else. The funny part is those are the small engines. So I'm guessing that the DEVS want SV to be mid size ships and fighters or shuttles because those engines are so big that you would have to create a a ship that may not be as big as a TRUE Capital ship but still a lot bigger than a fighter or shuttle using the large SV engines.
