Did you just say "Block replacement" ??? They have a block replacement version coming???? MAN that will be soo awesome. I know Space Engineers has a mod that does that. It's a lot better than trying to remember what block goes where. I fly in to areas with multiple bases on purpose just so my ship will need repairs because I agree with you. Flying back to your CV with holes in your Sv is very satisfying .

Well I tried out this little fellow and had a great time ... most of it on learning curve. Wasn't level 10 yet (recent reroll), so had to get that to make it. Then I ejected myself by accidentally pressing F while also hovering over water, and couldn't get back to it. Yaaay save games.

Then I tried to get too close to Epsilon FortessMK1 and died. Yaaay save games. I tried again and noticed (just before I died) that I wasn't firing back. Yaaay save games, and leveling up to 12 so I could make the ammo for the rocket turret.

Still, managed to explore a lot so it was all fun.

Oh yes, and also upvoted it on Steam since I think a lot of people would enjoy it. My wife will probably try it out soon too.

    Thanks!

Hehe, I'd be happy to see how my HVs stack up against the mentioned ones, whether I'm driving them or not :)

If there's a server where at least one party has admin permissions, would make HV dueling quite easy :)

I've been throwing in my support for a few other Early Access games recently (namely Gloria Victis and Kingdoms of late) so if anyone wants to grab my HV BPs and mess around, feel free to do so. Just search the Steam Workshop for 'SlamTek' and you'll find all my uploads :)

Thank you! Isn't Micro great? I am glad you enjoyed things while working through the learning curve this game presents. I hope your wife loves it too. Micro is a Family HV.:D:p:cool:

So I started a civ building for the new designers challenge and Got very lucky with placement. I knew when i started that I was gonna make a beach house but a pool was the farthest thing from my mind. But i put in some blocks and started a pool....exactly where it should be with the water!!!! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=811571365

I don't know, but it is the logical progression of the auto-repair tech. We've discussed it elsewhere, but by suggestion was that a vessel would need to be "registered" in it's whole state, so the repair tech knows what's missing after a fight. Of course, if you registered a ship (make a hidden blueprint in effect) modified it, then it got damaged, the repair tech would restore your vessel to the pre-modified state.

In reality, I'd hope that once a vessel is docked to the "T2 Repair Bay" it can do a simple compare based on object ID vs. what's been registered and current vessel state to find the differences. If the game could then replace missing blocks one at a time, in real-time as the player watches, that'd be brilliant.

I also suggested that this T2 Repair tech would replace blocks with blocks held in inventory (both normal blocks and device blocks) OR there could be an even more advanced version that, given raw materials, could make all needed parts. So, T1 Auto Repair = as it is now, existing block repair only. T2 would be replace destroyed blocks from inventory and only blocks in inventory. T3 would be able to make ANY block (Adv. Constructor in effect) given raw materials.

Whether this mirrors what the devs are planning I do not know, but auto-repairs have been on peoples minds for a long time, and we recently got the very first implementation of this. I'd suggest that the above is the natural progression of this tech...but you'd need to be level 30 (yeah!) to unlock :)

    Oh, for the topic:

I spent a couple of hours today showing my little buddy (mates 10 year old) Empyrion - he totally loved it, despite the very steep learning curve. I was actually running it on my laptop, a 2012 i5 with Radeon 7600 graphics. Well below ideal specs, but managed a fairly solid 20fps with everything dialled now. Just about playable, but things suffer a little when engaging drones. Still, I was surprised!

Started an Easy survival game, explored a bit, mined a bit, before building the basic requirements for a Base using the survival constructor. Last thing we completed before his bed time was a very basic base with Fuel, power and and Large Constructor. Just as we were about to build some defences, the first drone attack arrived. I was kind as he was playing on Easy - not one of my "Scoob" difficulty custom Akuas...I'll save that for a surprise lol. I took the single drone down, looted it and constructed a Cannon Turret for our fledgling base. He will be continuing the game next time I visit. Actually quite a fun experience for me, seeing a youngster getting into what is a more complex than average game.

Shame his dads not got a PC powerful enough to run Empyrion, else I'd be gifting him the game via Steam. Would be quite entertaining to mentor him on my MP server - he's already asked for a gaming PC for Christmas, but doesn't quite appreciate how costly a decent system can be :)

After Siege's comment, I realized I need to just get over myself:

    Introducing, Ganesha.

A late game hard hitting Survival HV. Very well equipped with lots of storage, plenty of speed, and tons of armament:

    4 plasma turrets
    4 homing rocket turrets
    1 Artillery.

Is named after the Hindu god of removing obstacles - and definitely follows after it's namesake. POI's beware; it is a lot of forward firepower.

Could be useful for light and medium PVP duty.

I know how ya feel. Some stuff somehow flew over my head before in times past & made me feel like a Mega Derp. The Game's developing so fast it's hard to keep up.

Not even a T2 Multitool will ever keep up with that kinda Damage dude... not to mention if all that fire happens upon you yourself & you yourself go splat. XD

What are ya talking about? Guns make pretty things prettier! :p

I like how ya put the Homings in front & the Guns that can't home in & need to work harder to hit stuff farther back where they'll take longer to get their shots to the target... not to mention putting your Guns where they can shoot the butt of the Gun in front. XD

Lately I seem to be designing an SV for every CV project. Today I mused about a lack of a good spot for a hanger in my ship, and decided on surface docking in a recessed docking port. Naturally I had to build an SV that befit this project, then I experimented with CV blocks until I had something shaped to the SV.

    I like the end product...

I do too. You do not see many SV's for cutouts in CV's. Very clever. In the last image, am I seeing a half-block extending downwards for a top-attached parking?

That is a really good idea - I love it.

I wrestled a lot with the design, and ended up going for something that matched my experiences in survival. Until they change the mechanics; I have watched my turrets fire through each other, so I think things will be okay... kinda fun though, the second they do change... boom.

You got that to clamp on to the CV ok? I did a similar design a while back, the aim being that both my SV and HV could dock underneath large docking arms on either side. However, for whatever reason, while my vessels would dock just fine normally (on a horizontal flat surface) they simply would not lock any other way. I gave up at that point. I suspect I've been suffering with a glitch of some sort - maybe an artefact of continuing with an older save - hence none of my attempts at such things working. I really must try again, and I had some fun ideas.

@Fractalite , wall blocks back to back actually - because I wanted the 'post' centered in a row of 4 blocks.

@Scoob , I've done it with a number of designs. Bat parking, tail parking, side, front.... just keep in mind the landing gear only have one "sticky" end. So for this, I had to rotate my top landing gear upside down compared to the ones on the bottom. I also had to use a bigger one than just a docking pad for this design, because it's flush with the top blocks the default docking pad would have been recessed and couldn't make contact. R-click and grab the next bigger size gear. Don't give up, it does work. :)

I'll certainly try again, though I attempted all combinations last time - must have been a glitch.
