The Devs last I heard are STILL swearing up & down they will NEVER let SVs have Turrets. I'm still hoping for Manual Mining Drills cause imho sometimes one may just wanna nip off their Home Planet into their Space Playfield & nom some Ore there rather then pull out their entire huge Mining CV & its Fuel Guzzling Piggishness just for such a small errand. I'm a Packrat, & as a Packrat I gotta say... that looks like Modest Storage Capacity to me. For the Topic: More work done on my CV Build. Still getting my back of the CV done bit by bit then eventually need to finish the most important part of this CV & the biggest reason this CV will exist... the SV & HV Hangar. Oh, also i've had to do THREE more Rip Outs & Rebuilds of Sections during the Build.
@Tyrax Lightning heres you rear shot of the completed exterior paint job, I love it to be honest oh wait, there is one of his builds in this photo..... meh, its on the workshop, im not concerned this ship also fits 3 of those... Interior may need a few other vital components and some paint then its done. and ill release it on the workshop. Edit: forgot to mention, this project will now be mentioned as 'Rochester' from here on out
Huh, looks already done. What were ya needing help on it with again? Might be too late for me to be of any help now. I don't Post anything I wanna hog the use of all to myself. I Posted it onto the Workshop so that means I have decided anyone who wants to can use it. Honestly its Primary Job is done & for its Secondary Job* i'm hoping to do with it on the WASD Games Server someday, stealth in how it's built is unnecessary. Funny ya mention that, long long ago in a time of my life long gone I used to live in a town named Rochester. *Which is holding 4 Rail Guns, Homers, Rocket Launchers, Plasma Cannons, & Pulse Lasers all on 1 Build so I can test out the usage of all of them with 1 Build & hopefully get to PvP with them someday & try to experiment on usage of them Post Weapon Rebalance & ascertain which ones I work best with so I can know which Weapons i'd wanna build my REAL SV with. & to think people keep thinking it's a GOOD idea to throw away those Alien Teeth...
Continuing with my quest, I moved from the snowy ambience of Ningues to the deserts and gas-filled lakes of Skillon. My Skillon base:
Finished building and published the Condor today. Now I'm at the tweaking phase. Constructive feedback is welcome.
I'd consider moving the Cockpit Seat back a Block Space or two. I had a Cockpit Seat that close to my Cockpit Windows in a past build & paid very dearly for it... PvP Defeat in literally less then a minute. This was Pre-Weapons Rebalance & POI Turret Buffs as well. Post Weapons Rebalance & POI Turret Buffs that Cockpit Seat positioning will surely be in grave danger from AoE Damage from POI Turrets & Player Rockets alike. That's about it that I can think of, lookin good otherwise. For the Topic: Had to work damn long today & only got a little bit of WASD Games Server play done. Got a bit more of my Base done & finally have ability to Navigate from the Surface to the Bottom Floor without using my SV or a Dummy Elevator Shaft as a Band Aid Fix.
Well, this weekend I have been mostly playing Empyrion. I finished my CV. Well, kinda. Still needs some textures & paint. There's just so much painting to be done that I haven't even gotten started... But I wanted to go out to explore the space so badly I packed my stuff and took off. I had been to the Akua Moon but that's been the furthest I've been so far. Bye, bye Akua! Found myself in Oscutune. Low on fuel, out of Warp Fuel, very little Iron. Yeah, I came well prepared! But I had crap loads of concrete. I wasn't planning to stay in Oscutune but I thought what the heck, is as good place as any (I hope) to settle down a bit and gather resources. So I built reasonable sized hangar embedded into the mountain and started working on a mining CV. It was actually quite fun, with rather low resources to build a purpose built machine, not a jack of all trades. I went with industrial look, no bells and whistles or smooth styling. Just rugged working machine. Well, rugged might be wrong choice of words, I would imagine this is very brittle if it needs to combat. But its only built for mining. It does have a turret for self defense but I'm hoping I'm not finding myself in a situation where I need it. I will post better pictures in the Capital Ship thread later on. I was also experimenting a little bit with cargo containers. What I visioned was that after a long mining run I could just unload the containers and drive all the ore to my base CV. The container is a SV that docks around the mining storage on the CV, acting as additional protection too. From inside the SV Container you can unload the ores from CV to the SV Container and fly off wherever you want. I guess they work as an escape pods too if something goes horribly wrong. I know this is not practical or even that useful but still seemed entertaining as an idea so I went ahead with it. I'm planning to add three containers. I still haven't tested this mining rig, need to mine some fuel first. Then I need to explore the surroundings and check out some POI's. And my Carrier needs fighters, need to design & build those. I guess I would like to have smaller size (read: less fuel hungry) general purpose CV too. And I guess I need to look out for Blue Crystals, still have no idea whether I'm stuck here for good or not Aaaaand.... so much to do, so little time! I love this game.
*snip* Some good ideas here and you're not the first one to take off in haste only to find that you didn't pack enough of one thing or another. If you're going to be touring I recommend stopping at Ningues and Skillon first. Both have loads of easily harvested crystals as well as modest amounts of some ores. I arrived at Ningues with close to 200 blue crystals (Most of them gathered on Akua's moon) in the hold and left with 500 of them! I've been on Skillon now for two game days and my total is now more than 600. What I didn't gather enough of is hydrogen. I'll be on Promethium packs only pretty soon. Skillon is dry, Aestus (My next stop) the same and I didn't stay on Ningues long enough to build up my supply of hydrogen. I'm on a personal quest to build a unique base with a farm on every planet without returning to any of the previous ones - including Akua. This is my second go at the quest, the CV I built for the first one turned out to be wildly impractical for this kind of work.
Some nice ideas here. Stay with it, you'll learn a lot by working through the situation. For anyone intent on touring, I recommend stopping at Ningues first. It offers loads of easily harvested blue crystals, I arrived there with around 200 of them in the hold and left with 500. I'm now based on Skillon and in two game days I've picked up another 100. I'm on a quest to build a base with farm on every planet - without returning to any previous one (Including Akua) so I know exactly how it feels when you realize that you should have packed a lot more of this and less of that.
Evolving my pyramidal shapes to have less windows. And finally got the military base I was aiming for.
*Notices the Pharos building their 'Military' Base with their Fuel Tanks COMPLETELY EXPOSED & NAKED & EVEN SITTING A TAD FARTHER OUT THEN THE BASE'S DEFENSES... & starts rolling on the floor laughing at the Pharos Military*
I need useful, fuel efficient small CV. I have make it for about 3days. It is size 1, unlock level 10, low cost and stylish a little. I named it DD-Ayanami.
