Had an idea for a small, cheap, fuel efficient CV that is used just for carrying a mining HV around to gather ore, something that has plenty of cargo space. However, I can't seem to make it as small as I want while including a warp drive and it hardly seems worth it without one. I decided to turn the warp drive on it's side but that made the CV too tall and squat, quite ugly. I did like the way the layout of the hangar turned out though. I'll probably remove everything except the hangar and start over to try and make everything fit and look better......or, considering it's supposed to be a complete utility vehicle, embrace the ugly and try to make it more so. Ended up with 31 cargo boxes in the hangar....I think that's enough.
Thank you for the suggestion. I moved it back and added a layer of shutter blocks between it and the windows. I also sacrificed some of the armor on the thruster pods in order to double the vertical thrusters and added some more horizontal thrusters. I also tested the flight mechanics on Aitis to make sure it could take off from the planet with the highest gravity in the game (currently). Pretty much all I did today, tweaking and testing.
I haven't been up to much lately. Took a small break and then someone commissioned a couple vehicles so I've been working on that. Not much to show for it though. It's proving rather challenging. It has a lot of sloping angles and nothing is lining up correctly.
Aitis has stronger Gravity then Aestus? I oughta check that out sometime... I hope work is still continuing on the rest of those Block Shapes we failed to get in 5.1.
My little homage for Starflight turned out way too big, lol. This is the new one, hopefully a bit more fuel efficient and less costly.
A hilarious base raid. It's an hour long but it kept me laughing. They really make mutliplayer look fun.
When update 5.1, I started New Game from Ningues. I raided 2x Rados Base MkI and Rados Oxygen Depot. I got many Steel plate from there. I maked runway at Rados Drone base. It is my homebase. Yesterday's CV was landed at my base. Is this small size CV? Doesn't see like that if landed at base. Good night guys.
Had a fun day in Empyrion today. Went space-mining... ... made some hydrogen generators (for Fusion Fuel)... ... repainted my PHT-5 "Stingray" light hover tank... ... demolished the drone base with it (that artillery cannon was bit more powerful than I thought)... ... and then found this under a POI.
Well I finished my little project today. I went ahead and kept the same basic design I had but just threw a whole bunch of sloped blocks on to break up the big box that it had become. She's still ugly but I kind of like it......now whether it will be useful is yet to be determined.

Edit 2: Oh, we have a potential release for 5.1, I'll do you guys a favor because this was built in 5.1 and wait for them to release the build so the mining turrets on here don't break the game or something.

Started a new CV. Its designed to be a mobile base, or a faction infantry drop vessel - temporary camp. So here he is: 9.90 kt of mass, size class 2, 58x42x42, in space it can protect itself with 4 impulse laser turrets, a lots of sentry guns for planetary defence. Not very nice, but first of all I tried to build smth WH 40k Necron Monolith like. Also It have 30 passanger seats, 9 growing plots, a space for some HV or medium sized SV inside. Still trying to improve, but text time I'll paint it. Spoiler
I attacked the drone base with the biggest piece of crap SV ever...in fact its the speedrun SV with 5 additional thrusters and 4 gatling guns! Then I fell down here.....uh is that supposed to happen? Need to knock out the Drone Base on the CHEAP-O? Well look no further. ... 2000 rounds that are required are not included
Made a design study. I wanted to make her evocate the spirit of a explorer or Tall ship from the past, but she turned out more like a WWII Submarine.
