Playing around with other players ships. I believe Neal created this one and I am loving it... I had to Yell "KHANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!! " while flying this ship. lol Someone finally made a SV version of the millennium falcon. It' is pretty EPIC.
Having found Oscutune strangely depressing and desperate for something new... I decided to head back to a new Akua. DELETE Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\02-27-2017Game\Playfields\Akua and Akua Moon EDIT Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\02-27-2017Game\Templates\Temperate\playfield.yaml Change SeaLevel from 23 to 30 Swampy, I like it I noticed that Akua does not have the # Biome Definition and Main Decoration Biome: # Underwater that Oscutune has. So I'm not sure how to customize further. I figured 10 billion more litres of water would make a big difference though. One thing is for, I will have to make the mountain tops more green before finishing this Akua Refurb. I also worked on my MovingDay special mobile storage unit. I also dig these pictures: http://imgur.com/a/vPRQu My playfield ATTACHED which looks good and has a crap load of enemy POIs. Is there a max # of POIs? There are a lot but spawned but seems limited.
Today, or more accurately, this past weekend, I finally did what I have planned to all along. In my MP game, I reached a point where I had too much or everything on Akua, and it was time to move along. So I emptied out my base, and loaded up the truck... er CV. I am now totally space faring. I've visited a couple of worlds, and am having fun seeing new worlds. At present I'm in orbit (sic) around Masperon. I plan to replenish my stores, then go wayyyy out to the rim. EGS can grow stale if you plant your ass in one spot and just live the good life. So I made a few simple rules for myself: I only use vehicles (in this one playing) that I made for myself. So no easy blueprint ships. My CV is perfect for long term habitation. It is NOT pretty. But it rocks on the practical scale. I made the ultimate HV, and my SV seems acceptable as well. POIs are targets and need to be taken. I have to work on being more aggressive. I will go for PVP when I see enemies. All in all a pretty exciting play so far. Leaving Akua made it much more interesting. As a side note: When designing your own ships, never worry about those artistic masterpieces you see on the workshop. Oh, they are lovely. For a while it actually made me regret making my own ships, because I'm just not that artsy fartsy. I decided that I will not let that deter me. I am proud of my plain old boxy boats. They are designed to be very easy to use.
WHOAAA!! The pictures of the mountains look like something from a totally different game. How did you make the mountains look like that ?
Today some more base Building digging out the first groundfloor...hours and hours of digging... finish... i also start to rebuild the Hangar... ...everytime the same...the base is way to big...
Having some fun messing around with the mergestructs command. I started with a couple bunkers I made awhile back. A couple of merges later... And then I decided to get a little fancy with the gate and add a tower.
I needed some ideas for a ship design and have been drawing a blank, so I found an interesting CV in the workshop that has not been updated in a long time, and started updating it for the current build. Replaced the legacy devices, widened out the mid-section, cleaned up the textures and fixed some misplaced blocks. Debating on widening the rear section and covering the warp core... .. and I have been learning a bit from how the old one was put together.
Sorry that may have been a little misleading. I just turned on God mode and went as far as I could SOUTH. Note the debug info at middle top of screenshots. I just want to see how crazy it got!! INteresting note: When you go to the poles N or S... initially the sun disappears (always dark). Then you notice that the sun shows up again...disappears...shows up and cycles like that as you go ... I don't know...8000 (units) of distance. Also at the poles, the deeper you go the higher the mountains get (and more steep). The mountains rise I guess infinitely at absolute 0 on the pole (which you will never reach). I remember! And Studio Vision 3D...or something like that
Yeah, Workshop is great place to draw inspiration from. I also like your approach, giving something outdated a new life. I kinda like the compact-ness of it all and warp core sticking out. Not very safe, though...
Single player, have been repairing (I messed it up quite bad) a drone base for my personal use: I dont' have too much iron so Im repairing with concrete. Don't tell anyone! I'll add textures later. Speaking of which - had I realised that texturing iron and concrete in the same build together is a MAJOR-pain-in-the-ass - as the textures are not in the same order - I would have gladly spent all my iron for this. Ie. you choose texture in slot 1 - but it will be different texture depending whether you are pointing steel block or concrete block. So you have to swap constantly just to do the same texture. Its already kinda weird that there are different textures for concrete than Iron - but even if thats the case, please could the same textures be atleast in the same slots! Nevertheless I got part of the downstairs all textured, painted and lightened up. Still some damage left from my SV-through-the-roof approach. I might had been just a tad more gentle if I had known that I will be living here eventually Having fun with friends: We have built two HV containers. This one is for mining stuff. Land on a deposit and mine away with four mining turrets. Im kinda surprised how well this works! I mean the turrets aint half bad - you don't get the most bottom layer in a bigger deposits but those turrets still have decent reach. We have processing-on-the-go for all ore types too in this container. On the last pic it kinda shows that theres a danger for the container to fall into the pit - but we've handled that with adding horizontal truss legs to the sides before starting to mine. Other container is for storing stuff. Lots of storage - and lots more space to add more storage. Which will become useful. We've had our roughly 40 auto miners set up recently and ore is just starting to pour through the doors and windows faster than we can think of a way of spending it! And of course we need something to transport our valuable containers. I'm probably overusing my lightweight "Sampo" CV frame - but it seemed to be fine frame for this job too. Small CV's as this are super nimble even with minimal thrusters. And of course fuel efficient. This will be flying alongside our main CV if we need to move - and will be main transportation for the mining container - in which case the storage unit will stay at home. You can walk between the containers while they are docked and access the front container from the CV. Plenty of docking space in the top (my friend uses it for his HV miner docking . I know, not the easiest place. But he has quite agile and well performing HV's that can go places, Ill post pics later...). Oh, and this is fully warp capable! And I'm sure nobody guesses where we've drawn inspiration from....
Thats awesome looking fortress! I would feel safe there. I really need to look into that mergestructs thingy - I like building but I don't like repetitive building... Once I've built something, I would be happy to be able to use it elsewhere too...
Join the Cut N Paste club! I have many ideas on hold because I just CBA to rebuild things I've already built, and deleting 60,000 blocks just to retrieve a module with 4000 blocks in is becoming heartbreaking.
Hat's off to these guys. Probably one of my favorite games i have ever played. Just can not get enough of it! every day i play it when i get the chance. I play this on a private server but would be nice if the folks came on more.. But i am not complaining i love it. Can not wait to see the new what new things being added and implemented. Is it just me or is this game Very Addictive! Keep up fabulous work. Time is ticking down for the Big 6.0
Still playing with other people's ships from the workshop. Exploring the new update 5.5 in one of Neal's Star trek ship which is one of my favorite ships on the workshop. If you love Startrek TNG then you should really check this ship out. The detail on this ship is amazing . I had the urge to do a captain's log while flying this thing around. lol
I've given some thought to building more modular pieces that can be combined to make different things. Going with the military theme I'm planning to make a barracks building, a control tower, an airfield/landing strip, a fuel depot, a power station, guard towers, etc at some point and then using mergestructs to make a base out of the pieces. Heya ReeO.
This would make a really good Alien POI or another Drone base. This is awesome. This would make a fun Alien POI to raid if they added it to the game.
Speaking of Drones.... What I did in Empyrion was get my gear set up on Masperon. On my way out I encountered a few drones, and I found that my SV is rather useless in a dog fight. My 15mm mini guns just weren't getting it done. When I finally ran for my CV, I found it very hard to slow down! My front thruster was space dust, now in orbit around Masperon. Time to re examine that SV. I sure wish I could use a joystick to fly!
