I play pve with my wife on a server I run on my game computer. That way you get all the server settings to play with.
This should be done without anything in inventory but one tier 1 pistol and 50 rounds of ammo. No food, No meds.
Thanks!!!! Hopefully they will add it to SP soon because it's not a big deal to me but I would like the option just incase I want to build some insane CV for my SP game.
That would be pretty Hardcore if they did it this way and the guy that runs the server is always trying to up the challenge so he might try that one day. They love creating these insane situations. lol From what I understand they have the enemies set to difficult and each planet has the most difficult aliens in the game.
This is awesome!!! I'm surprised we don't see many people doing this because this one Picture is Pretty Epic. I hope more people try this. I've been planning to build one myself but I usually get distracted by another part of the game. The devs should give us the ability to mine every asteroid even the ones with no resources so we can build a base on anyone we choose.
Finally got done modifying a larger battle tank, I call it Osiris. Needed something larger than the little guy that could take a few more hits in a longer drawn out battle: My poor attempt at RP:
I know the feeling, but I also think it's about time I deleted my creative save because I'm noticing inconsistencies with the ships I spawned in version 4.
Yeah, we tried that, it looked silly when we tried to build something big enough to dock our capitals to. Hey Eleon - can we have bigger 'roids please?
Been finally checking out the new & improved Abandoned Mine by @Frigidman . That place is BRILLIANT! And let me tell you why - its not just a great detail & texture update (well the place does look gorgeous) - BUT its also update how you can approach it. Without spoiling too much, let me just say there are multiple ways getting in - and it really felt like I was doing a 'stealth' approach even though we don't have such thing in this game. And not just that, I think it added a lot of content to this place as its just not new ways getting in, there's also few secrets for those who love snooping around (like me). You CAN speedrun this place but you're missing out on half the fun. Yes, there are the sentry guns that weren't there before. And while I think I'm safe to say that the general consensus about the sentry guns is dislike - I still get that why they are there. Place needed to be bit more scary. And I got few scares, fine. BUT the great thing is, you can do this place now in a way that you don't have to deal with too many of them. You can get to the core with some sneaky gameplay - and I don't mean downright cheaty tunnel down and blow a hole-approach but something that the level design was actually meant to do. More durable alien blocks really help too, you can use your heavier weapons without blowing a hole two floors down. If more bases were built like this, I think it would be great. Its a very simple things really, but it would basically add a stealthier approach option without changing anything in the game mechanics. The original Abandoned Mine was the first (hostile) POI I visited, and its kinda special in that way already - but this added so much. Sorry if I went overboard with my praise - but I just simply had and intense and FUN POI raid! - - - - - - - - - In other news, built small outpost buildings AROUND my autominers. Well, you plant the building first, then the autominer inside. They add very little gameplay function but they are still not totally useless. They make collecting the ore tiny bit easier - as you have staple place to land, pop open the door while standing on the SV, collect ore. Another thing is you can add a waypoint to your bases so its easy to mark these so that they are easy to find without constantly checking out the map. Ive just recently started using the waypoints as they are quite well hidden (from your inventory click REGISTRY). I have one with and one without a turret. My greenhouse bottom level. Still need some sprouts for the two upper floors but the two bottom floors are fully functional. New colour scheme for my upcoming another faction. Black&poison green was kinda cool but bit too alien-y. So I tried something else, pretty happy with this. And I missed a spot, as it seems... Another goal of mine before 6.0 hits was to check out Thermica Station. Its a cool place for sure - but it was very straightforward. In addition to looking cool, t seems to be pretty practical. Most likely will be using it as a space station myself. Any ideas what to do or where to go next? Do you have any favourite planets/POIS/places/things to do you could suggest?
I spent probably the best part of an hour last night trying to make my big CV look better. Got things looking pretty awesome and I was pretty happy, then I had a power cut and lost all said work! I might have sat still in the darkness, staring at the monitors and holding onto the mouse still, holding back a fairly significant amount of rage! Looks like I'll have to have another go at it tonight! Also looking at some of the other ships on here, I really need to improve my ships interior/exterior designs. Mine look incredibly basic compared to some of the art on here!
Most impressive. I was very impressed with what @Frigidman did to the place, and the hidden entrances were a very nice touch. I can also say from experience, sending a small SV in and blowing through the walls is not a cost-effective method of assaulting the place (because of the alien blocks). The Abandoned Mine was my first visited POI as well (since it does not try to blow you out of the sky). While I was assaulting it in my latest survival game I realized something, the alien blocks can now be deconstructed for resources (10 steel plates, 8 hardened steel plates). Yay! I also realized something else, something I do not think the Devs intended. You can use "Disassemble" on the multitool to harvest alien blocks in survival, then build with them. You can harvest pre-alpha blocks as well. Why would you want to build with pre-alpha blocks? Sathium-free shutter blocks.
I would like to do an asteroid base, but they are just too darn small for the sort of thing I used to design when I was a kid (some 40+ years ago), where multiple ships of many sizes would fill a hollowed out asteroid which then would itself become a giant, mobile base with engines and all. I had even figured out, long before I read any science fiction or engineering literature (I was a die hard high fantasy fan at that age) that no constructed structure could be so huge and that hollowing out an asteroid or planetoid would be the only way to make something so gigantic (I also had not read Ringworld, the Integral Trees, or anything about Dyson spheres yet). I resemble that remark. I was going to do a super basic CV for my survival game, which has reached that point we all know where it's time to get out of Akua space. 7 hours later after completely ripping entire sections of the ship apart and redoing it, I am no closer to a completed CV than I was when I started. Nice ships btw, especially the little black one in the middle, very Batmanish. +1 please. Asteroids, not the other kind of roids. UPS FTW! Worth every single cent and I can't tell you how much more. http://www.apc.com/shop/ca/en/products/Power-Saving-Back-UPS-XS-1300VA-120V-Canada/P-BX1300G-CA
Being an IT engineer I should really have one! It's been one of those things I've been meaning to get but then other things suck all my money away, like my car at the moment! Why can't we have auto repair bays in real life?
I've been working on my Spaceport a little more. So far I've made the central tower bigger and added some beams extending out from it. I've added porch roofing and columns and windows to the outer entryways. I extended the curve on the outer ring so it bows out more and added windows to that. I'm still working on the landing zones and I haven't even touched the interior yet. The building still seems a little plain to me. I feel like I want to jazz it up some more but I'm not sure what else to do to it yet.
[/QUOTE] Only issue I have found if not careful mining out the asteroid you end up with gaps because the filler tool does not work on asteroids. Other than that having a lot of fun building it.
