Lol Get used to scrapping designs if you build like I do. I just start and then see where it takes me, I erased more BPs than I've completed by ten fold
Playing around with the new update. When the full 6.0 is released this game is going to be a different game. The Weather system is going to allow us to create some EPIC pictures and video clips. I started fighting some drones and a base at the same time. SO I thought I would add a little Meteor Shower during the battle to give it a little Michael Bay effect. lol
After work yesterday I raced home, logged in, and updated. My MP server had wiped, and I had to start over...... Awesome! I immediately scurried around to find a couple of POIs. Dodging drones like captain Kirk under Gorn mortar fire I ran in and found boosters, and even a single suit of heavy armor. Life is good. Later on I assaulted a gang of spear wielding locals, and I found one single corn sprout. I now have everything I need, even a T2 drill. Radiating rain means I had to add a roof to my starter base. I usually just layout a platform. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the changes.
I'm just enjoying playing the game after events in real life pulled me away for a time. I did a clean install, ticked the Exp. branch and wow! I was on 5.XX when I left and the changes wrought by 6.XX are transformative. Kudos to Eleon, I wasn't expecting anything so extensive.
Was it you who had a quest to build farm on the each of the planets? I kinda wondered what happened with that.
That was me. Thank you for remembering! The idea was to build a self-sufficient Base on every planet. I think that I'd managed 7 planets before I had to set the game aside for a while. I will give that quest another go from scratch as soon as I understand all of the changes.
I normally am not too into experimental branches (I dunno why, I start over so often it really shouldn't matter). But today... I had the opportunity to take my PC to family's house and download the 6.0 experimental on their wi fi. I couldn't take it anymore.... I wanted to play Empyrion. But knowing the game changers were coming with environmental hazards and weather, I couldn't do it. I wanted to build ships, but I didn't know what would be airtight Have experimental now and I can continue building at the very least. So much new stuff it's like Christmas! That's it, I'm starting this next game on Ningues and my base needs a red and green color theme.
We started a refit today. It's going to take us a while as it's quite an important one to us. Spoiler: Refit Underway.
Discovering new ways to hunt! It seems harvester module is useful after all. In addition to trees, you can mow down also animals! What a thrilling way to hunt... Well to be honest harvester module seems to be quite OK in a more dense planets, been clearing my way to POI's. But finding additional uses for it was nice
I own my own house, but with present financial situation I cannot afford an internet service. I get my phone data, that's what I'm on the forums with. In other news, I was just trying to puzzle a way to make an "air pipe" through the floor connecting a few rooms which for privacy's sake aren't using glass doors. I expected the flat wall blocks to not be airtight but they are, and I wanted to be able to texture it. For a while I tried using trigger plates - texturable and not airtight - until I realized it was making a "Bing!" Noise when I walked everywhere. Found the perfect solution... textureable stair blocks! Flipped upside down so the flat side is walked on, but not airtight so I'm using a row of them to connect these rooms in a chain.
Another beautiful cloudy day on Auka. The clouds make the game look almost realistic like you're watching a movie.
Wouldn't the shutter windows - without the actual window - would fit the part quite well? Or you want your air ducts to be 100% concealed?
