That would be a variant of my option 2, which is also my favorite. :)

My feed back on the crafting system and production of parts is that its very simple and very good but if you want to make it complex or deep like a player would want to mass produce materials quickly and in a great amount and doesn't need to idle all day is in this video with factories. Contractor is great a bit slow for my speedy learning curve. You can keep the contractor for single production and add factory engineering to the game for faster players that learn a bit faster.

Craft compicated is normal. But wont centrally stockpile system for component, ores, complite products. Control more than 3 craft machine is uncomfortable. Im have method organize the chaos - make ignot and base components in first machine and make block and complex component in second machine. Sometime use third machine for faster ore rifining of component crafting. But for industrial production for seriously building it is unacceptably.

+1 for rearranging items. I think it should work similar to the drag and drop functionality of the inventory.

Seems like people are kind of split between having a research timer, and just finding lootable blueprints.

Given that the game is supposed to be procedural, and you won't have any guarantees of finding the appropriate blueprints in a timely manner, I suggest a compromise. Have research in a time/point grind, but have findable or lootable blueprints or research notes that you can use to accelerate or skip the process entirely if they're of enough quality.

I think it would help prevent players from either getting bored waiting on that 'one' tech they need, or getting gated by bad RNG.

    That is not the problem.
The problem is that when you run out of raw materials for a complex item, this item disappears from the queue list, forcing you to scroll down again and place it again.

This crafting system needs to be polished.
We must be able to reorder our crafting queue by click and drag.
We must be able to cancel any item in queue.
We must be able to craft the maximum possible number, like for ingots for example. Without having to figure out.
We need bigger windows. Too much scrolling at the moment.

We need a search field box asap.
We need bigger windows and arranged items under tabs.

As I said, crafting needs improvement.

We also need scrollwheels to work for scrolling. It would also be nice for something to craft missing sub-components if resources are available, maybe a notification or alert if the necessary resources are missing.

Now tech level mechanic is normal. - for new blocks need new craft machene , sometimes need some rare ore. May add new craft machines for new tech levels - may be this machines crafted with rare materials, may be this machines for procesing new materials or ores.

Aside from the way we craft what we craft should also be reviewed, this has been suggested before and my opinion the artificial distinction between constructs just seems wrong, the only distinction should be between large and small frames, and the limitations should be set solely by the game physics engine.

What I mean is, in current day technology building an oil tanker sized vessel and hope to get it to space seems unrealistic but from the moment you can build a gravity generator that issue becomes irrelevant, if I want to slap some thrusters into a base and take it to space the only limitation should be thrusters and generators power output and of course structural integrity of the building, I reckon is not an easy feat to code that in but at least scrap the distinctions off, along with the speed limits…:p

I don't see speed limits going away anytime soon. Unlike real space, you're somewhat limited by the speed the game can render.

I don't think you can eliminate the speed limit: people will get frustrated when they firewall the throttle and rack up 50,000 m/s and don't have enough fuel to stop...float past the outer worlds and into open space until the player starves and dies. But, 100m/s is slow: 225 mph, more or less, which is a little more than the takeoff speed of a modern airliner, and 40 m/s (90mph) is a quickish drive on the highway--not a blast into orbit. I'd like to see at least 1000m/s and in atmosphere, account for air drag (frontal area *Coefficient of drag * velocity^3).

Rendering is a minor issue at high speed. Lighting is cumbersome, but drawing terrain or space is not. This PC I'm running is 4 years old and gives 30fps in space (RAM=4gb@1333/Nvidia GTS 450/Phenom 4 3.4Ghz). The frame rate in a base with 20 lights is about 12.

Remember that everything in the game is reduced by a factor of 60. Because a "day" in game is 24 minutes, a second in the game is like a minute in the real world.

So 100 m/s is actually more like 6 km/s, which is Mach 20. And that's not taking into account the smaller distance on planetary surfaces or between planets.

You can get from one planet to another in less than a minute - do we really need to be going faster?

At the moment in single player, no, there is no pressing need. In combat, with the current balance of damage and armor, ships are soft: speed is life. Obtaining maximum speed in less than a second is kind of unfortunate--no rabbiting in PVP. I am hopeful about having planets revolving the sun asynchronously (which is unprecedented) and orbits being much farther apart (if planet to planet becomes 100r instead of 10r). Then, we will need to go faster.

What is space engineers like (I'm not advocating a copycat--I'm just sincerely curious)?

Crafting system review/ suggestion after PA3.0.1:
    • Need key binding for 'craft maximum item possible'. e.g. L-click for 1 item, shift-click for 10 item, ctrl-click for max possible item.
    • Indication/showing number for max possible item which can be craft with available raw material.
    • Prevent player for queue more item than max possible item to craft.
    • Add different types of constructor for different class of item and exclusive raw material for each class. e.g. Forge only use raw ore and convert them to Ingot. Building material Constructor only build hall block, struts, cosmetic blocks and only need Iron and Titanium as raw material. Electronics builder only build computer related items and only use Silicon, Copper, Aluminium as raw material. etc.
    • Current GUI is easy to navigate...
    • Add a key-binding for turn on/off the constructor .

I'm not sure what category this goes under so...

The Base refrigerator sound is WAY too LOUD! I always place it as far away and in another room if possible. I can still tell when I'm flying close to my base, as I can HEAR the darn thing from 100m away. :(

I´d guess, that he means that a silent fridge = a dead fridge, which means, either you´re outta fuel, or Drones came visiting, and found you had no cookis o.o ...

PS.: I did post the noiselevel, as a bug in the bugs section ... annoys the brainz out of me aswell -,-
