I think it should be a combo of power, and something else. Maybe targeting system blocks, or an ammo feed blocks, which have less HP than steel blocks, so that a ton of turrets results in less armor, and more power usage, so a balance has to be found between the tradeoffs.
Recently, given the goings on in the workshop and the smallish backlog we've generated for ourselves in the CV department, we've decided to do more bases. The first of which seemed to go down quite well We currently have another (smaller) scout base almost ready for workshop consumption, a very early construction shot can be seen below, but we're not releasing until all the shenanigans with the workshop are done. This one's pretty much half the size of the Forward Ops base, and is intended as a small scout and/or single person base. Spoiler: Scout Base - Early Construction Given that that one's pretty much finished apart from a few greebles here and there, we decided to think a bit larger, as is our want So the next one is going to be an armed and armoured local flight / transport / operations base of some sort, with enough space to land one of our Mephistopheles, and securely store at least a couple of Fausts and a dozen other smaller SV's, a couple of Cerberi, Ghosts... well, whatever fits really I do still want to go bigger, but I think we'll hold off on that for the next next one, or maybe we already have plans for the next next one, it'll have to be the next next next one..... Spoiler: WIP Large Base
I agree . Requiring turrets to have a targeting system block would be a great idea. The targeting system block could require a lot of energy to run. I guess they could set up the hit points on your ships armor like your space suit. Where certain boosts to your suit lowers your armor. So maybe you can have certain boosts like targeting and speed to your ships will lower armor. So if you have a lot of turrets you will need boosts added to your ship or your targeting will not be as accurate.
And there's more....... 34Z is a variant of it's native hull 31 Geirrid, utilising the latest in welding technology, intended as a battlefield command vessel. outer structure is mostly complete, we've been working on the (faux) bridge. Spoiler: 34Z - Work in Progress The Leatherback is the militarised version of 41 Humpback, adding multiple layers of combat steel and hardened armour. We're pretty much done on these two, just have the carrier and XL versions to go. Spoiler: Leatherback (Naked and Cargo Variants)
I had the best EGS weekend that I have had in quite a while. I had started a new SP game, and played that only. I am done with MP, at least for now. Oh my gawd, it was so liberating! I was able to find gear, and even had to mine ore again. It felt like the good old days. I am very much enjoying the new features. I made a nice trip out to Masperon by way of Aitus, and came home with Zasc and Erestrum. Good times! I logged in yesterday after a break. I had been working on my base, and had taken out the sole defending cannon. So I start muddling about the house, went up on the roof, and BAM! Suddenly I'm under fire. I'm DEAD! I'm DEAD! WTF!!! Zirax were every where, and even followed me inside down the elevator. I spawned outside only to realize that a swarm of drones were buzzing around. Dead Again. At last I ran to my armed HV, and got the mini guns working. Then I managed to clear out the house. It was epic. Now that I am geared and leveled I will start to go after POIs. I think I will leave a couple, just so the threat remains.
First Game in 6.0 Come to Akua they said... it is warm and nice they said... it´s so cold...i`am in a hole at night...there is a storm...and i can hear something in the djungle... ...oh god i´am not alone...
With the new system in place for plants and the trading stations being functional I might as well. I think it will be fun.
The devs are almost making planets and space into two different games. I think it's pretty cool. Space in 6.0 is becoming it's own game and planets are already their own game. If they keep this up they'll have the ultimate space survival game .
Started a new game and created a new Character. Here is my version of a Stargate Atlantis Wraith, they called him Todd for some reason.
Been working on 'stuff' - but finally a little time for my own projects too. I don't use the symmetry mode much. Very rarely. For example Ilmarinen was 100% symmetry tool free. But I think I have to try start to use it - if it can save me even a little time, Im taking advantage of it. As my current build is gonna be big. Biggest I've built so far.
Yeah! Trading Stations have transformed from sad derelict buildings you usually avoid into a teeming hubs of life you gladly visit.
Been seriously mulling entering my own challenge because I find it so very different than what I normally do... to that end I have been tinkering with some designs tonight. The first: Introducing, Regret. A condition I am sure NONE of us are familiar with.... Designed to be like my other SV's - cheaper, super super super fast/agile, and nicely placed at level 12. Not designed for PVP; regret is a POI, drone, and PV hunter. Further note; it is not hardened steel. This is to both keep it cheaper, and to emphasize speed and maneuverability - which I find trumps protection. It also lacks cargo boxes and the entire under... erm.... ship, is walkway paneling - feel free to do with it what you will. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=919269350 Enjoy! I kind of want to try a white CV... and this fighter would be its compliment.... Hmmmmm...
The second; Introducing, Dust. In some ways the best of my small super super super fast cheap SV's... but not exactly the most attractive. The images say it all, it is perfect for survival, but not really for PVP. Steam Link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=919274062 Enjoy!
These all began with my SV Ithil and the success therein, so I thought, why not create a collection of small, very cheap, super super super fast survival sv's! So I did: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=919276620
