Blocky but i guess has many utilities. also why you guys keep on naming the hangars hangers I quote from dictionary : "Hanger = a shaped piece of wood, plastic, or metal with a hook at the top, from which clothes may be hung in order to keep them in shape and free of creases." Also hit F6 a few times and enjoy HUD free views for your photos. Do not forget to take them while the sun is up. What I do is I spawn the blueprint on creative mode where I can stop the time and change it to when the sun is up so the photos I take are visible and so the details of my structure.
blocky yes as she isnt done yet...thats purely the core structure secondly, hangers is the accepted term for a storage facility of aircraft . I quote from the definitions of Hanger A hangar is a closed building structure to hold aircraft, spacecraft or tanks in protective storage. Most hangarsare built of metal, but other materials such as wood and concrete are also used.

This is another attempt with diagonal "arms" but it's too heavy for no good reason. I could add more engines but what for? It's mostly an exercise, I just wish there were more "building aids" to lay out series of blocks in a few mouse clicks for things like this... I called it "Sputnik"... wonder why...
This one is more in line with my "energy-wise" philosophy. It has all the devices, an "open cockpit" and a nice lush garden that I hate with a passion because it makes picking up veggies randomly clicking on a device lying in the vicinity... I preferred the previous versions of plants. Really. And it's performing well, with 0-90 m/s in less than 2,8 seconds in all directions, minimal fuel consumption, and a nice array of weapons - plus it's lightweight, built mostly with shutter windows that yield 1200 armor points with just 300 kg per block. Front view with the "open cockpit" (nice view with no tint) : The hangar with the little "wasp" and red paint for hazardous blocks... no choice given the tight space: The crampy "workplace" with 2 boxes for every metal / component / fuel / O2 etc, plus all devices: And as always, my favorite "screen" :
Why not... here's another one, front view, with the tomato / pumpkin jungle... The hangar was mostly an "afterthought" because I could not find a way to get in my SV simply docked "on top" of the CV without "freezing" the moment I jump a few feet high. This temperature thing is quite exaggerated right now, I hope they will fix that to something less "extreme". Did you notice how I don't care much for esthetics ?

I built this but I suck at putting stuff inside them. There are 3 decks in it - top most is add-on stuff. Middle is the command deck, bottom floor is the engineering level with launch elevators & such. The wings are hollow and have 2 elevators each to take you up to one of the 4 SV's designed to dock on them -- the SV's have a door on the bottom, allowing you to enter the cockpit from the elevator.
Hello all. I have been sitting on this ship since Fractalites contest waiting for the 6.0 release. I put the 33 on the steam Empyrion workshop. Its a slight mod from the contest rules. I removed some guns and bolstered the underside with some combat steel. I hope some find some use in this ship. Here is a CV I have been working on and off for a few months. I think this is my fav so far. Obvious inspiration from Star Trek and Star Wars. Sorry about the class 8. I tried for a long time to keep it at class 4 but it just was not happening. It actually caused me to stop working on it, but I said mess on it and jumped back in. Click on pics to make them larger. @Pyston Don't apologize for making a proper sized vessel Looking at the pics - stellar job as usual. Have to do a closer inspection this weekend. Nothing wrong with the outer shell - but it's your interior work & detailing that always gives me the 'cool, why didn't I think of that' -moments with clever use of blocks & textures.
Thanks Rainy! I want everyone to be able to use my stuff so I strive for a maximum of class 4 on my ships. I had that goal in mind on this one, but the shape and interior space just required a ton. I still think Empyrion devs should give us a light/sensor combo, that would eliminate 100 props and drop this to a class 7. I could probably get rid of some of the elbow bend blocks (those are a TON of triangles) and get this to class 6, but class 4 is just not doable. I hope you like the interior, for me I feel its a bit old hat. Same tricks, same texture usage just in a new setting. Not sure if you will see much that is new or unique. I think my focus on this ship (although the interior is done) was really the exterior. I love how it looks.
So I have to ask. Has anyone done the USS Enterprise NCC1701 yet? Would love to see that! If it's already been done, can someone link it? Thanks!
