I dont really like the rules for CVs on planets myself but I play single player and this rule is mostly for the benefit of multiplaye servers. There was a time where the devs were not going to allow CVs on planets period which would have been LAME but I think enough builders made them see the light. Plus Dual Universe showing videos of their Large CV like Vessels hanging out near Cities on their planets may have made them rethink that idea. I hope after they increase the size of the planets the relax the rules with CVs on planets.
Another two areas down on the station. I turned one into a stadium and the other into a park. I turned the shared common areas for the luxury suites into a pool and of course the whole thing still needs a texture/paint/deco pass. Still to add: Crew quarters Captain's and First officer's quarters Garbage compactors Security/Armory/Detention block Kitchen/Hydroponics/Cafeteria Casino Med bay Teleport/Portal room Death Star Laser Partridge in a pear tree Oh and LCD signs everywhere. Can't have people getting lost. Oh god. I'm going to need so much signage.
yeah, that was the idea behind! (former 5.5 version) but still apply. 100% depletion rate. 2 turrets for the main work, the other two for some small bits left. There isn't faster mining possible ;-)
Actually, it's a SV, with a rocket launcher. SV-Rocket Bike If you are looking for a small HV, you might want to try this one. HV-Hover Bike I guess I went overboard with the design, but it is made for planetary & asteroid mining.
I remember in some earlier alphas where we couldn't fly CVs to planets... and that sucked pretty bad. It was a grand time when they did finally allow CVs on planets, and opened up HV & CV drilling turrets. Even though CV weapons and drill turrets were/still are off limits in atmosphere, it was at that time when I was having a blast creating setups of HV drillers docked to CVs. At the time, I was making permanent docked HVs - removed the RCS and thrusters after I got them in place, practically 'molded' them to the CV. But you guys in the know showed me that it's modular HVs that can move from docked to undocked states... that's where it's at. But I haven't messed around with that for a while now, as I've been testing and playing A6. BTW, I've really got to look at some of the latest Dual Universe vids on YouTube. Seen plenty of the early ones - hopefully there's some new content that I can see. Point some out here if you can. Good competition will drive Empyrion to be better and better.
Ui!! Nice ones! you came up with something way smaller than mine.... well done! EDIT: can you actually invade a NPC base with this one? As it can pass through doors and has good firepower? I tried yesterday some fast-deploy-turrets (knowing when repacking (=disassembling, back into the factory for anew building...) that I will sadly loose the unused Ammo already in his magazine), but they were crap. Problem was, they need too long until they started firing. The Bots were already swarming me... And I had to take care of them myself... :-( /EDIT mine's way bigger, but still a lot of fun to fly (especially Drone HUNTing ;-)
Oh man, it flies too? Awesome! Subscribed... to both. Slightly disappointed that the SV-Rocket-Bike is unlock 10... would love to have it very early-game, especially at that extremely low cost! Nonetheless, these are 2 cool pieces of giddy-up-and-go, and I'm glad I got 'em now. Hv at lvl 5 is gonna come in real handy on my next playthrough. Thx, man!
Damn, rucky, that's awesome! Gotta go grab that thing too. I get to building SVs and HVs, and while I want them small, I just can't seem to stop adding blocks and furthering the lines, until they always end up way bigger than I intended. These scooters are great. Edit: Subscribed.
Yes, I like small and tiny builds ;-) small, functional (feature-complete for what they're for) for indeed ingame early survival usage ;-) but effective! (that's the way I'm making them, playing the game, then wanting something, then building something small (because I want to go on playing that is!! ;-), they're effective and efficient things ;-) haha... Sadly I don't have the patience some of the more experience builder here have (like Fluffy, Siege Inc., rainyday and others)...
@rucky Agreed. Thing is though, we better be careful, because at present, the drones are a joke when your in your SV. Even small little critters like you and fluffy make can swat the drones like they're so many nats. But I bet the devs will eventually beef up the difficulty of drones, and hopefully, add AI SVs into the mix. Then we'll need more beefy SVs... ...like this badass I completed a few days ago: Actually, it's not that badass... only got basic rockets and gatts. Just looks badass
yes, there needs to be more AI vessels and troops out there. But I think as an early enemy the Drones should stay as they are good cannon fodder for your early flying and fighting skills/vessels... ;-) But when the planets get bigger there should be more and bigger vessels out there. The PV (from a design standpoint, not the actual implementation) is a very good step in the right direction I think! But there needs to be more - and smaller (fast & deadly) AI SVs there. But.... BUT... only/not until they've forget their 100% precise aimbot technics!!! (man I hate that!) edit: indeed looks good! what's the stats?
I'm gonna be in heaven if/when we get into some sweet dogfighting with AI SVs. I've always been fond of flight sims - although I've moved away from them over the years for more building/crafting/survival type games. But if the devs get it right, fighting AI SVs will be great fun. As for stats, she's pretty quick and nimble. Vertical performance shines in this ship, while braking thrust is rather lackluster.
oh, it's bigger than I thought... even bigger than my heavy attck fighter with 18 guns... I really only make small things it seems... But your Maneuverability is good (besides the brakes, right haha ;-) Similar stats to mine, also ressources same... interesting...
Got the Manta Ray updated today. There are a few of the smaller HPODS I am debating on updating. Since I made them small, I am having issues trying to figure out how to make them safe. Especially since thrusters radiate heat in all directions.... @rucky & @68plex, if you like small builds you may want to check out my workshop using the link in my sig. I have done quite a few small builds, I even had one project where I tried fitting a full survival SV/HV in the same area as a single BA cube.
Now we're talkin! ;-) haha ;-) nice one! yes, that's thing's I'd also build/do! ;-) yes, can be very tricky. I had a lot of problems getting my Mining-Rig O2 oxygenated, air tight and under heat/radiation control... perhaps you remember, there were a few posts about my problems lots of pages back... finally I scrapped my old design and made a new one, similar in design but always checking the new bounderies and limitations...
Huh? My Homebase isn't published?? alright, seems I've forgotten. Here it is: CV_HOME-ONE : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=944469209 Collection of Companions: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=944591366
Last night we had a little party at the base 2 members of our allied faction were online, so we went by their base to pick them up in the big HV that has many passenger seats. After a guided tour of the base (so far), we hung out and enjoyed pies, cookies and coffee in the hangar. I took lots of pictures but there's a game update so I have to play now!
There's been just too little sunset/sunrise pics in this thread lately - so I'll just correct that. The big HV in question - DHV-419 Thorn - works great ferrying people around too, it just flows over any terrain and has plenty of space. The very same vehicle we just earlier used to take out hostile POI's (for example the drone base) - so its a vessel of many talents Awesome design by @Starwing6 and @Friendly Timo.
I have dropped out of experimental for the time being. Last nights update threw both of my MP games out of synch, *sighs*. So I started a new one on a server that I used to be on before experimental. Damn. It wipes the starters on Friday morning. I cannot play tonight. Damn. Hmmm. Opportunity? sure. I get out there and start running west. The planet is absolutely cleaned out for ore deposits, but that just means meteorites abound! So I will come on Friday night to a fresh planet, and have a few levels, and an inventory full of ore. Not a bad way to get started.
@rucky & @Fluffy Had a little scooter touring fun this morning before work. Fluffy, I replaced the rocket with a gat to bring it down to lvl7. Handles real nice. rucky, superb use of LCD screens out the cockpit view. First time I've seen that, and I really dig it. Love these bad boys, guys.
