What's with me?? Am I ill? Do I need to go to the doctor?? I've updated my fighter again, searching for the best... the uber, the ONLY ONE... Based on my latest fighter, the DroneHunter, I lengthend it 3 Blocks, added 2 Gatlings and fortified the front section, and added more Thrusters/RCS as room where available. The Result: The DroneHunter MKII ================= http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=954048059 More Firepower, better front-Armour, and... even some BETTER MANOEVERABILITY!!! WOOOOOO!!! I'm getting closer, I FEEEEL IT!!!!! ;-) haha... But, here it is anyway: The Stats: (All Thrusters are still exposed/can vent outside!!) Comparison-Pic
haha very nice, i used to sail such vessels in second life combat...memories XD Your solar sails gave me an idea to build a childhood dream...
Some are afraid of some 12000 summits eh rock bottoms eh... what's the right word for?? Nevertheless.... I am not. Spoiler: 12000 and I got to the Top eh bottom and it was lava... Spoiler: finished.
I wanted to see if i could I build a mid size to kind of small CV and this is what I came up with. I still haven't finish the interior. I know the design is weird but it pop in my head while I was building. lol Trying to pack everything into a small space takes sometime. I don't see how some of you guys do it.
Here is a "X-Ray" view of my "utility CV" I use to test things and go places... it has all devices and a long thing in front that is not shown here (weapons on a rack, mainly). It even has some free space, but the biggest part is the hangar, which takes more than 1/3 of total size... I had no choice because of bad conditions in space ; usually I just dock my SVs / HVs somewhere on the outside... So without the hangar and keeping the warp drive out I could have made it quite smaller, and the hangar is mostly empty because I use very small SVs and HVs... Almost forgot the data sheet : Length shows 200+ meters but that's because of the long arms in front; main part of the ship is around 90m.
Take a look at these 2 super compact fully functional cv I made, hope they inspire you. Real tetris came into play in the first one lol I used only thin sliced steel plates as walls with the invisible chunk on the outside. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=927536597 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=936604463 lol edited to include links XDDD
No problem, and yes it is like tetris when your goal is to go minimalist xD A lot of fun to build this way, its a challenge. Shortly after I made another CV, it.s a little bigger but was designed for sheer looks. yet remains small on the whole in comparison to the typical workshop CV. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=923735139 And then I made a combat version... http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=927479614 With exception of the rear thrusters, all others are enclosed in the build, though not appreciated by some, it shows that you canget everything you need and your engines inside a small frame
I think I am going to start over and build another small CV because the CV i just built looks more like the frong of a larger CV to me. So I'm going to build another small CV and turn this CV i just built in to a large one.
Then my work here is done ! you have been inspired Have fun and I look forward to seeing what you come up with
Frejd, finished for the moment. Can you tell that I went for complete luxury rather than utility? Looking forward: Looking aft toward the captain's cabin: Bow, you can make out the window for the pilot just under the bowsprit: Outward bound:
