It's an interesting challenge to build a collection of structures like this. It was really Fractalite's contest that got me started down this path and lately base building has just really clicked with me. I know I've posted pics of some of this stuff before. I hit some sort of limit on the number of structures allowed so I had to move operations from Omicron to Akua. I've been sorting through the pile of unfinished blueprints picking out which ones I want to use and filling in the holes with some new stuff like the power station or the small, rounded habitat modules.
I was about to ask if that was your plan Wish there was an option in Empyrion to do that kind of thing without mergestructs... Anyway, awesome work Like the power station look
The developers have mentioned wanting to make the mergestructs command easier to use in the future. Hopefully that means a copy/cut/paste/delete gui of some sort. I'd love to be able to use the mouse to pick up a selected item and place it instead of typing in coordinates. Every once in awhile I type in the wrong coordinates and send something to the far side of the planet.
And on a fateful day, a lone explorer wandered into the wastelands to find houses, buildings, factories, towers, antennas, and landing pads randomly strewn around as if by the hand of a slightly loopy God... Heck, now I'm tempted to mergestruct a bunch of stuff with random coordinates just to see if it'd be cool...
Probably end up with stuff floating in air that crumbles the first time anyone sneezes at it or else buried in a mountainside.
Okay, now my new cheap SV's are on Workshop: PSI P-33 'Shooting Star' light scout (Steam Workshop) PSI F-33 'Shooting Star' light fighter (Steam Workshop)
Multitool down POIs... ya'd be surprised how much Iron & Sathium ya can get via all those Scavenged Steel Plates & Hardened Steel Plates. For the Topic: Still need to review my recent Mining HV & test it out, & review my recent Hover War Tank, which i'm still doubtful on. Next Hover War Tank, I might try building its Roof & Turret mountings first to see if I can get a more 'Hover War Tank Shape', then build from there & see of that works better. I'm a Quality & Practicality First kinda guy, but still feel like having my War Tank look like a Hovering Brick Platform seems like awful sloppy non-professional building. My Empyrion Building Skills Rust is showing methinks...
Giving my large CV support with my smaller faster Mid size CV. You guys should try the aimanager and spawn in a few freighters or carriers. It is pretty fun. I just park one of my CVs and loaded it up with fuel and ammo and it will fire on any Freighter you spawn in while you fly another ship .
I haven't published a BP yet. There is so much good stuff out there already. These days I'm working to come up with practical vessels with impractical looks. CV WIP:
Holy wow... @Fractalite has GOTTA see this... For the Topic: I'm just not liking my Hover War Tank enough so trying again at a new Hover War Tank Build.
Building the interior of my other CV got a little boring so I started a new CV . Hopefully I will finish one of my big CVs soon. lol It would be cool if they would add some normal outfits for our characters that we can wear on our ships or inside our bases. I would like to give my character the Yondu look from Guardians of the Galaxy.
New Hover War Tank is done, & i'm not totally sure on it & how it'll perform, but I like it a lot more then the prior Tank so i'm keeping this new Build & I blew up the Brick Tank. I'm keeping its Specs & such a secret though so Slam can't find the info on here & have an advantage in our next Hover War Tank fight... whenever that is.
He's been absent for a little while now - but I guess if se summon him often enough, he will reappear
I... What... How does... I don't even know what to make of that lol. Can't say it isn't different though!
Yep. I doubt that I'll be using this one, or the sailing ship CV , or the Big Wheel CV for more than play testing. They're attempts to see how wild looking a fully functional and practical vessel can be. I figure that some of the ideas from the extreme ships will wind up in my next suite of vessels.
Today in Empyrion... built some small landing pads on empty areas of my base for SV's (including rainy's shooting star - woop); built a structure out of truss blocks to hang lights over my HV parking area, and went off in my first CV (because the others ain't done yet) to set up some more autominers on Aitis and Masperon Moon. Unfortunately while I was placing autominers a PV wandered by and did some damage, so I went ahead and boosted back into Aitis orbit to make some repairs and figure out why my turrets don't seem to respond to anything unless it's way, way close. Sorry, no screenies, but parts of it will be on my let's play - next week, probably
Happened to me yesterday when I was harassing POIs on Omicron ; the PV moved slowly towards my CV and I rushed back to it and wondered why it was not firing. I took off in one of my tiny fighters and started attacking the PV. I made lots of holes in it, but 2 big thrusters were indestructible ! I took out all I could, and while doing so I asked myself whose twisted mind had designed that PV : there were tons of thrusters hidden in the ship ! Never mind... Here is a CV I made 2 days ago to use as a "safari vehicle" : it has a small hangar, a bigger garden than my "test CV" which is 30 % bigger, all devices, warp capable, a zillion cargo boxes, and still much space to add devices : Garden & hangar view : And this ugly thing can MOVE quite well ! In fact it's on par with my fastest fighter SV (the pink one in the hangar) :
They started firing eventually but the PV already ate a turret, and was really close to poking a glorious large hole in the side of a hangar pod right where my farm is, so that would've ended badly. Figured I'd run screaming like a girl and head back after >.> Like the safari CV! Are shutter windows airtight?
Yes. And shutter windows only weight 300 kg with 1200 hp versus 4 tons for "combat blocks" with 2000 hp. I prefer to sacrifice aesthetics for better mobility, and the player can pass between the window and whatever is beside / under it, while blocks don't allow this. I find it easier to avoid fire than to "take it with confidence" and spend 15 minutes after each combat trying to find the 1 % damage somewhere in the whole ship... I can dodge the POI's turret shots easily with this ship with all thruster active. There is of course an "economic" scheme which only uses the 12 smaller thrusters to save fuel.
hey, are your creations on Steam? I'm similar mind in questions to speed, accel and such, and would like to get my hands on some of your machines
