Here's a little CV I've made for supporting POI raiding. It's basically a mobile hospital for recovering from a death, or a place to retreat to heal and re-arm yourself. Includes constructor, Medic station, Repair station, food processor, armor locker, fridges & cargo boxes. Carries an assault SV on the roof for clearing out POI turrets, once the turrets are down this can be parked near the POI for a safe respawn point, loot storage, and cover from drones. Has enough space for carrying a small HV as well. Calling it the Wambulance (I'm not very good with naming things) workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=960458701 more pics in spoiler Spoiler
Here's the updated Agra-Tech Freighter. It now has support for ventilation, an alien core, and alien treasures. Edit: Design updated. See below.
@Trig Awesome idea - and as awesome excecution @zztong Great looking freighter, I like the design But maybe play with textures/colour little bit more to make it 'pop'?
@rainyday Thanks for the push. I don't know if I got it to 'pop', but there's several more visual doo-dads and I found and fixed a couple of flaws along the way. The whole thing is actually textured with plates, but there wasn't a lot of variation, so there's some more color and more shapes to break up some of the larger flat faces.
Here's a planetary Container Ship (aka Freighter). Its small and unarmed. Much of the 'loot' is mounted externally, so you don't want to be careless when you shoot it up.
I presenting one of the ships I'm proudest to have build, the MXII-Zeus. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=956688204 It's easy to fly, have that little extra space and keeps getting really good reviews, I hope you'll like it!

Friends, I represent my new ship! Nebula 2 "Python", a ship for long journeys and exploration. Can be used as a mobile base. After the successful debut of SKV Nebula (1 series), the company received many reviews about the shortcomings and pluses of the ship. In the second ship of the series, these shortcomings were tried to correct, in connection with which the comfort of the ship increased many times. - Corps of battle steel, overlapping ordinary steel. - Excellent control and maneuverability as in the previous model. - Full functionality, from the farm to the weapon room. - Hangar on 2 medium SV. - A large number of light and medium turrets, for defense both on the planet and in space. - Heavy armament is missing, except for course missile launchers. - Brand design of a series of ships. - Correction of errors and shortcomings of the previous model. Length: 150 meters. Width: 54 meters. Height: 30 meters. Weight: 27.7 kt. 21 protective turret, 4 mining. Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=962045098 Spoiler: SCREENSHOTS
We finally managed to complete a big CV build after a few truncated efforts. The PLATYPUS is a big girl at size class 11 (insert Spinal Tap reference here) No screenshots as yet but we have a walkthrough if you are interested. Even though it is nowhere near the quality of everything else I've seen here I'm still very happy with it.
Looks cool... but no way in hell i'll ever Hire those peeps to haul stuff of mine from here to there. I think i'll do my own dirty work on that. Seriously, my old fail Tyrax Violent Taxi of long ago could Quarterback Sack that Freighter. XD This reminds me... all my current CVs are probably stupidly out of date now... they're all Pre-Ventilator Oxygenation Era. One of these days I oughta rectify that.
That's certainly true. And while I know you're joking around, one question (of several) questions I had when making it was how heavily it should be defended. I'm concerned that freighter is too heavily defended, specially in the interior. EDIT: Oh, you mean the unarmed freighter. Sorry, I thought you meant the Agra-Tech one. Yes, well my thinking was that most freighters would rather stop and surrender when faced with a credible threat. That way they might stay alive and keep their expensive ship. Also, from a game challenge, you would have to be more careful not to shoot up the loot which is all exposed on the deck.
Well its really what suits the flavour of the ship, really. Some are better defended than others. Personally I dislike the gameplay vs. sentry turrets, so I try to keep them at a minimum. But then again, those are the only thing we can have in the freighters...
Yeah, I personally don't think flying helpless into Hostility & praying for mercy is a Strategy, but to each their own. I guess that Freighter should just plain be glad i'm not a Pirate. (Though I stand my ground that i'm also not likely to be a Customer either.) Never tried sticking Minigun Turrets inside a SV/HV Hangar as a 'surprise' for any Aggressor that might think of blowing the Hangar Door to fly in & stage a Boarding?
Hehe, well not all freighters intend to fly into hostile territories. Modern day freighters going near the Somali pirates don't seem to be armed and seem to count on fast response and intervention from warships. In WWII, freighters tend to form up into convoys and were escorted. But I have no idea of the lore for the orbits of the current planets. There are unarmed neutral bases. Maybe Akua is on the edge of the frontier but still near settled space? I dunno. Its a ship.
& also to each their own. Civilians will be Civilians, & Dragons will be Dragons. All my Support Ships will be Violent Supports when intended for actual real use, & ya can have fun in the Civilian World. That's the Beauty of the Sandbox Genre. ^_^
Made some more progress on my flying fortress. I do wish my friends continued to play this game so I could get some help lol.
Since I can't upload BPs to the workshop here is my updated destroyer, I made it for the HWS server so it's class 3, all lights are removed, I left room for growing plots. You'll find an engine room with a T2 explosive block for autodestruction (once activated the whole room with blow up after a 30s delay). It has retractable landings gears. There are crew quarters for 28 crewmembers, 4 are for officers. There is a mess, an infirmary and a CIC, two hangers, top for SVs, bottoms for HVs. I tried to make it look like a "real" space ship. Thrusters are "exposed", hidden behind round blocks.
This has been a real pleasure to build. Still some texturing to do outside but mostly done inside. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=965978013 Thanks to @Gobarg for help and inspiration.
