We definitely need bigger doors... ... and bigger air tanks ! In fact we need bigger everything. This is just a tiny orbital base, it's 1/16 of what the grid allows and it already takes a ridiculous amount of tanks, and I can't get my relatively small CV inside cuz the doors are too small...
I agree, and I'm not 100% convinced by it either, but as Requiemfang pointed out, I'm limited by the blocks and the overall shape I was after, as well as my group's color/pattern scheme. I did a flat color version too, and its not so jarring. If I publish, it'll be the flat color version. Cheers for the compliments! Now if we had blocks for a proper 1 in 3 and 1 in 4 slopes, and their transitions to a 1 in 2 sideslope... Try two opposing rows of 5 by 5 shutter doors? Gets you a whatever-you-like by 10 air-tight door, though you need logic and sensors to run it. Well yes there are T2 trills for HVs but they're currently on experimental right now but they were added yesterday. They work pretty good.
no charges, like the Drill turrets. they're pretty fast, a small HV with a six-pack definitiv faster than my beloved Mining-Machine (4 Drill Turrets, in SP only one at a time)...
They actually make some of my larger mining rigs viable so there's that too. Of course I had to update them all.

I feel your pain, but this is Early Access. Updates can, and do, frequently break many aspects of the game, my advice: don't get possessive of stuff you build in an Early Access game.

I took over a Freighter Tug with little effort recently. Went back to find it and........ It's inside the planet playfield... I'm 25 meters from orbit... but its 75 meters away. How did this happen? How can I get into it now?
Since I last posted I've been fairly busy. I dug out a new area next to my main subterranean hangar bay to use as Quarters. I placed an O2 Station and Medic Chamber, along with some "deco" items. Thought: many of these really need to be re-classified, now they have an actual function. I got saved by some "deco" when I got hit by Spider Spit, while 50 metres up, standing on my SV, mining with the drone lol. Said bit of deco cured my "Poison Bit" ailment, which is good, cos I had no ingredients to do so. My next mission was to deploy the Five T1 AMiD's I'd constructed. However, I was thwarted multiple times by the veritable hoards of hostile critters on Masperon. I'd remotely deploy my AMiD using the drone, but of course we're now blocked from using the drone to add fuel, so that bit I had to do on foot. Standing on the roof of my SV, I was still vulnerable to Spider Spit, so I really couldn't get close. It was then I formed a cunning plan. I built five Base Starter Blocks, and a load more Concrete blocks and ventured forth once more. Placing my AMiD's using the drone, while relatively-safely on my SV's roof, I then proceeded to place a BA Starter Block nearby, and use it as a seed for placing a concrete wall around the AMiD's. I'd then reclaim the Core, and continue building in Concrete. This left me with a well-protected AMiD, thanks to the 3-4 block high concrete wall surrounding each, plus a convenient landing area, with a further one block high thin wall around that, so I'm protected from both melee and ranged attackers. So, I now land on a Concrete pad - only large enough for my small SV - and walk down a slope to the AMiD, all safe from the excessive critters in the area. Nice. During AMiD deployment operations, I encountered the PV again. However, I'd added a single Rocket Launcher in addition to the single Gatling to my very very basic SV. Using Rockets, I managed to disable the PV's rear Thrusters, and then it's heavy turrets. It still has the lighter "sentry" turrets if I get close, my SV won't survive long vs. those, but it's largely nerfed and cannot move... or so I thought. Passing by later, ultimately on my way into orbit to mine Sathium and Magnesium (no planetary yields higher than 160 oddly) I saw the PV had moved slightly, and continued to travel slowly in a direction it should not be able to. Hmm. Mining went smoothly, so I headed back to base, and no PV anywhere near...it should still have been sat disabled where I left it in theory, but it had been moving, albeit slowly, when I left for orbit. So, that's where I am now. I've just popped some Flares around the Hangar Door to my base, but other than that my main tasks are done. I'm now waiting for the Sathium and, more importantly, Magnesium to be crunched into a useable form, before I build up my Ammo stores. Scoob.
Waaa, I shot down the Masperon PV (Revenge!!!) and it bugged out totally. It turned into a ghost ship that I could Fly (SV), Drive (HV) as well as walk through and send the Drone through, but not interact. It's core was intact (just most of the thrusters gone and unable to take off) and it was trying to move, but was snagged on the landscape with no downward-facing thrusters to lift off. As I could fly through it, but not land on it to enter it, I decided to try taking out the Core to see if it helped. It did - after a save/exit/reload - the PV wobbled a lot, sliding down a hill but, once it came to a halt, it was SOLID once more. Nice. I land my SV on it, jump out and use my multi-tool to break through the hull near me and...it doesn't work. I'm told I can't use the MT on this!! *sigh* I wander into the ship through another breach - a bit more tricky to jet-pack into - and proceed to loot containers...except I don't, they're empty and I cannot access fuel tanks (I really need fuel) nor O2. As I'm pondering this, the PV sorta flickers - like a lightening effect - then vanishes from beneath me. I fall and hurt myself. Waaa. So, from the Core being destroyed to the PV vanishing is around 5 minutes. Not good even if I could loot the thing. That's sorta the end of my current game for the moment. I'd achieved my planetary end-goal early in a soft and squishy SV armed only with a single Gatling and a single unguided Rocket Launcher - I'm amazing! I was quite pleased with myself at this...but it all went horribly wrong lol. I have the save backed-up from moments after me taking out the core - I'd been testing the "ghost" bug extensively - so can anyone recall how I can use console commands (I'm SP) to force this ship to either be neutral or mine? It has no Core yet still behaves as if it does. Oddly, it's name on the HUD is purple not Red for hostile or White for neutral... Any tips welcome, I'd like to continue this game, but that means I MUST have this PV stick around so I can loot it fully OR at least blueprint it (needs to be mine to do so) let it despawn, then cheat it back in from said Blueprint... Edit: I think I figured it out, I did a typo the first time so thought I had the wrong command lol. Anyway, I land on the PV once it's solid, and type "Faction entity Sco 57" which makes the PV (ID:57) owned by my faction. Wonder what happens next...despawn still? If it does, I've blueprinted it! Ha. Edit 2: Success! I managed to blueprint the wrecked Masperon PV, though I had to edit out the two remaining Alien Sentry Turrets inside in Creative as I was getting the "Invalid Blocks" issue with the BP showing up red in the factory. However, it's now fixed, I'm back in my Survival game and I've used console commands to give me the PV I bloody well earnt Lol. Scoob.

I was going to do it on my nitrado dedi server but the eleon team broke nitrado yesterday with a rushed hotfix and have yet to confirm their mistake and whether it has been fixed yet. Even though the servers are working now and the issue is clearly fixed no mention whatsoever in the forums, yeah we will just brush that one under the carpet here and hope that nobody noticed that for a whole day we were selling servers to the paying public that they could not connect to xD As such I am awaiting confirmation from eleon that the Nitrado empyrion hosting is fully functional and ready to be used again and the problem was repaired and we sacked dopey dave the weedhead coder. Anyway... the project ! Did anybody ever see Starchaser ? 1980 something animated movie. I wish to make the protagonists ship "Arthur" and looking at it here I reckon I can make a reasonably good attempt in empyrion with building it, note the gun turrets xD and on top at rear is a double hangar door, which I should be able to do here ! General body shape may vary given the limitations of triangles. If anybody else wishes to make an attempt by all means do so ! would love to see this built in any game. try the "faction entity" command something like "faction entity FactionName entityid" type help faction in console for further details or clarification on that command.
