I dunno... a New Player coming upon a POI they've never seen or set foot in before, yet for no reason at all whatsoever getting to know exactly how hard it'll be feels kinda Cheaty. HOW is the Info getting known by the Player somehow, when there's no way in hell the POI was ever Infiltrated, Hacked, or other such Info Gathering Methods? Surely the POI isn't just Broadcasting the Info for free to everyone & everything around it as a great big fat act of Tactical Dumbassery...? (What's next, the POI Aliens handing out Free Maps of their digs with everything dangerous marked out & a big fat Marker showing the exact location of the Core? Maybe free Ammo & Weapons handed out to blow the place to hell with? ) These are dangerous enemies that wanna kill all opposition, not a Theme Park Ride to be strolled through.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head, is when your farm somehow mysteriously dies after days of working fine, you get those stinkin 'dead plants' and you have to multitool them to start over, and it's easy to accidentally break a growpad, which can lead to worse problems. It's like the game is giving you a big middle finger. If a vote were taken, I doubt more than 10% of people would say 'please keep dead plants in the game'.
As i've mentioned, i'm an arrow key player (for directions). Shift + spacebar is on the other end of the keyboard, hence the remapping. Sure, remapping works, just annoyed that i have to use 2 buttons to activate HV jump/boost. In the fly of the moment i press the wrong combination and hover off in the deep end. Why is it so hard to let it activate on the same single jump button on foot ? But never mind, in the meanwhile this jump/boost feature was broken for quit a while now, hardly make the effort to use it anymore.
Can't use just Spacebar alone for Hover Booster... Hover Height Raising function already has Dibs on that.
I haven't encountered this issue before. Does it happen when you're growing plants inside a sealed room with ventilators and properly positioned lamps?
Right now, my least fun single task action in the game is reloading manually all my turrets one by one.
I still recon its the slow speed of the T2 drill. Once people have a few hundred hours in this game the T2 becomes so freekin boring I can see why some have left the game, for the sake of the T2 grind.... Yes there are ways around it, but there not always available on servers when almost all servers out there are custom and different from eachother. The CV drill should also be faster. Its the top tier drill, yet a HV can trample it for amount of ore per second pick up. So the CV drill should collect the equivalent of 8 HV drills. Or the HV set might as well be the top tier drills. Now we have T2 HV drills the balance of the top tier CV drill is even more backwards. T2 CV drill should be nice and collect at least 8 HV drill heads worth per second.
When building, when you relize you need to STRETCH what ever your building a block or two or 3... that takes forever!!!
Yea Avorion handles blocks like that, you can drag each end of the block to form whatever shape you like, it has some very cool building tools but Empyrion is different type of game, scale wise, much more detailed than Avorion, I don't know if our voxel system is capable of this type of block manipulation as it brings other problems, like mass of the block, hit boxes etc, which all effect battle game play , so its a tricky ask for that in Empyrion but it sure would be handy !
I have a new least favorite chore: Smelting ore into ingots. This is probably because using a furnace is just as arduous as using a constructor. And for some reason, I collect a LOT of ore. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it all, really. I do hope that the furnace will someday take on an 'auto' mode, where as soon as you feed it ore it starts to work. After all, that is all it does. It can just have an on/off switch for power management.
