Hey guys, I suggest the forum admins do activate any form of antispam features. Already reported dozens of them and there are comming more and more! Maybe dont allow new users to post directly, without have 5 of verified postings, like many other forums do. And please dont allow "low rank" users do profile postings!
Every spam feature to Xenforo is enabled and about few dozen key words... If you noticed their new posts are becoming silly now more and more not even making sense it's like they know how to get past it. I'm going to look into new methods of filtering to help stop it but to moderate everyone would be hard. Spam filter has been used about 200 times now lol. That is crazy. Last night was the worst attack yet.
I think, then, that the best idea might be to moderate the first few posts of every new member. I understand that this would require some extra effort, but it would shut down spammers completely. When they discover that they can't get far enough to post this garbage, they'll go elsewhere.
Thx for the reply. I think, then the best method to stop them is to not allow new users make direct postings. New Users rank should be active until a user has 5 or more verified posting. If you need support at moderating this I would like to help. I have/had few own forums so I know that pain. EDIT: LOL, Headhunter we did synchronised posting again
The fix is actually more easier then restricting all new members. You should see a lot less spam but some will still go through the cracks.
Thanks, Yeah most posts on the 2 main spam sections are modded right off the bad to new posts. The profile ones are a bit more tricky but at least their 100 times less toxic.
