    I assumed that the random and fixed lists could be altered by the "don't spawn these POI's near this one" collectively. If what you said: ("SpwanOptions only apply to random POIs among each other") is true then it's not possible to do what I wanted.

    I tested it manually in yaml. It threw no error, when i set the fixed POI (PrefabName) as SpawnAvoid to a random POI. But i couldn't really confirm that it worked or didn't. Mostly the random POI was out of the set distance to the fixed POI. But when i set the fixed POI as avoid in the 'Wreckage' POI (Starter Base), it didn't work and the min distance was ignored by the game.

    I will try some more, when i get home. But even if it works in the game, at least it won't be as easy/fast to implement as the 'UseRandom' setting. :) So it might be some days.

    As a workaround you can try and play around in the yaml manually for the time beeing.

    Hey jmcburn, awesome work you've done here with this program. I'm not sure if you are still working on adding textures but some of the textures from Hummel-o-War's pdf are not listed in the program or in the picture files in the images folder. There may be others but I'm specifically talking about RockRed and RockRed02 from page 38 of the Player Reference sheet that Hummel put together.
    Anyway, minor inconvenience and keep up the great work!

    (side note: what language was the app written in?)

    UPDATE (v1.34.7)

    CHANGES:

    • Now allowed to pick from fixed POIs, when setting Avoid/Near POIs in Random POIs.
    After some tests, this indeed seems to work (not always, but mostly). I'm guessing, if it's not working for some constellations, that's mainly because the game engine can have a hard time combining the fixed POI locations with the distances set in SpawnPOINear/Avoid.
    If you find any issues, please post. :)

    Just a thank you for creating, sharing and maintaining this app.

    It has made planet build and modding so very accessible and enjoyable.

    I have not been able to create planet vessel bases with ships from within epd. The epd fields matched the epd fields from the default working base and ship on omicron but neither the base or ship would load. I did a comparison of the yaml's and they did not match. Sorry I don't have more info. I was able to manually edit the yaml using cut and pastes from the desert playfield and make things work.

    Again I am not sure if I did things correctly from within epd or if it's an epd issue.

    Could you please upload the playfield.yaml here that did not work (rename .yaml to .txt). I'll check it out.

    Thx for the report.

    EDIT: I think, it's got nothing to do with EPD itself, as original Omicron itself is also not spawning the PlanetVesselBase. I played around with the original Omicron playfield and changed the SpawnPOINearDistance to 700m and it worked.
    The game just couldn't find a find a suitable place within set criterias.

    You can check that in the game's console. There will be some message stating that there was a 'problem with the placement of random...' If you find the PlanetVesselBase there, it's a problem in the game's spawning algorithm.

    You can try setting the SpawnPOINearDistance higher. Please let me know if this changed something. :)

    Yeah, it's a known issue and mentioned in the first post in this thread.
    Some Antivirus software flags EPD.exe false positively as Trojan/Virus.

    You have to exclude the directory, you extract EPD into, from your anti virus scanner. Sadly, there's nothing else i can do about it.

    I'm stymied. Created a planet and not getting mob spawning.

    Have read through everything I could find, including your earlier post about mobs in this thread. Everthing appears to be correct from what I can tell.

    Deleted all the creature entries and re-entered them one at a time. Still no joy. Everytime I change the file - I start a new SP game to test.

    Is there any chance you would be willing to look at the file if I send it to you?

    Here is the fixed playfield.yaml.

    You had the Id's of the biome clusters mixed up. Id's have to be unique for each biome cluster. So i renumbered them for each set cluster. Then the creatures spawned again. At least i saw some LizardMules and TalonGuardians. :)

    Edit: As a sidenote. If you use custom cluster names like 'Treeline', be aware that there won't be any biome sounds playing, because they are hard coded in the predefined cluster names like 'OpenPlains', 'TropicalForest', ...

    The next months will be filled with hard work, i guess. :)

    This is all just the 'proof of concept' stage. Nothing set in stone here, as i'm learning by doing. Just testing around a bit with 3D. ;)
