Starship Troopers Dropship "DR-4 Viking" - Well everyone was making their fanboy ships so since Starship Troopers was my favourite movie as a kid and I needed a constructor SV I thought I'd make this. Not very well armed and slow enough to get pelted by bug goo...

If I were to use this in multiplayer I'd make it a bit bigger and put passenger seats in, unless they do add SV internals.

Thanks! I'll post the blueprint sometime this week.

    Also quick update...
NOTE: Following online blueprints never gets easy

FYI, yes I put 7 decks inside engineering section, and six more above it making it already 13 decks...
When it's done, it will be ~304 meters.

I proudly presents my newst build.
    The Silverdragon.
A 50 Meter long (and 15 Meter high) SV. And yes, you have to walk around in it, it has different rooms and corridors.
It was a privat Experiment if the System can handle a SV in Capital Shipscale (Ok a small Cap ship)
    View attachment 2059
37 person capacity, a Engeneeringroom, good Armored (Because the damn NPC?s shot so good at senetive parts)
    20 Oxigentanks, 10 Oxigenstations, 10 Constructors.
If it will ever be possible to dock Groundvehicles... it has a big hangar in the back.
    8 Plasmacanons, 5 Pulselasercanons.

And an *beeb* Energyhunger like a 2 days desserwalker *smiles*
But it works, can land, start ect... But it is a bit hard to steer. (Like a big ship simple is...)

Well...I'm wondering that myself. So far frame rates are fine.
There is a fine line between utility and too big...I may have crossed it with this one.

I plan on saving the model without subsystems and with subsystems for growth and new additions to the game. I want the model to last.

I still wondering if I should follow the blueprints to the letter or not...I'm leaning towards as close as possible but the trick will be to keep the ship still useful.

Thanks! I'm quite pumped myself to see this to the end. I have yet to layout the decks for the engineering section. But that won't be too hard.

Woooooooow that seems to be a really big building project! Star Trek was laid me in the cradle and it makes me happy, that Iam not alone with it. What i can see you´ve builded right now looks great so far :) I am very curious how your project will develop.

I hope you will/can finish it. Please give us regulary updates of our C-class.

Finally I start to think about to construct a capital ship too. Well, the first step to build a capital ship is the knowlege how it should look like I guess. So I started to bring my first ideas to paper.

What my capital ship should be able to?

well... it should be able to carrie some starfighters or small space vessels.
    It should be good armed.
It should be manoeuvrable and fast so it needs a lot of trusters
The Ops or bridge should be on the top more at the backsection, that you can get a good overview.
I want a design, which looks a bit aerodynamic.....

    Okay.... that are my requirements!

So then, here are my first sketches for an starcarrier I create. There are just a few lees sketches but i will go on work on the concepts, so there will be more sketches next time :)

I think, i will name the ship class "Omicron class starcarrier" because it will be manufactured at an not yet existing shipyard next to Omicron. ;)

Here is a Small Vessel ship intended for combat, but it failed quite badly so it's been scrapped for supplies. Still wanted to share it though. I have a new, much better fighter to share a little later.

    1) The X-61b Dodo

    Crew:
    Pilot - 1

    Variants:
    I. X-61 (Experimental)
    II. X-61a (additional thrusters)
    III. X-61b (armed - Gatling/Rocket)

Named for it's goofy appearance due to its unconventional layout (and an unforeseen allusion to its fate), this experimental craft was a first attempt at a small, quicker, more nimble vessel intended for seeking and destroying targets. The design was intended to combine ample power with low mass. Essentially the pilot is riding a pod mounted on top of a small rocket. The cockpit and thruster pod are connected via a vertical beam which provided the mounting surface for the 4x Gatling Gun. The craft has a downward/rearward curved wing which was intended to minimize the wingspan while still providing sufficient surface area as well as providing some protection from flanking attacks.

The combination of the over-under cockpit design and the angled wing shape kept the overall width of the vehicle to a mere 12.5 meters. Although the craft was quick and agile, the minimalist design proved catastrophic when placed in rear-world engagements. The weapons were too exposed and sustained irreparable damage very early into combat leaving the ship defenseless. Occasionally the lack of mass also proved to provide little protection for other important systems such as directional thrusters and the oxygen systems. It seemed quite obvious that this particular craft was not fit for service. The decision was made and the vessel was decommissioned and dismantled for parts. Although no longer in service, this experimental craft proved priceless for the amount of research and design knowledge gained during its short life.

Some of these should also be posted in the blueprints section of the forum, so that the Eleon team may use them in the game but the owners have to do that. I would really like to see some of them in the game.
