That would explain it then. Normal version isn't fixed yet I guess. I am SO glad to hear they have a fix though.
Gorgeous, gorgeous ship. Also, I love the Van Gogh quote. I went through the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam last spring and, while taking my time with each painting proceeding upwards, was in tears on the fourth floor. Powerful stuff. This is AWESOME. Why did I not think of this? I need to go attempt one now. Thank you for the inspiration! Am also interested in suggestions along these lines: "POI's have improved so much that infiltrating some of them is as fun as my very first go at the abandoned mine." But NOT for this thread - I think there are a few in the experimental features discussion area... and then there is the good ole fashion suggestions area. Comments, suggestions, questions welcome.
Thanks, although i'm not a van gogh expert (my sister is) i found that this quote is a wonderful circumlocution of the fascination of space exploration. (he probably didn't mean it that way, but it doesn't matter) Better than anything i could ever come up with, it's just pure sense of wonder. Something that has become very rare nowadays.
I did some more recording for let's play footage, which is always fun because I swear the minute I hit that record button I turn into a drooling ***** and start making dumb decisions. Not sure my latest idea is one of those, but I figured it should be possible to build a 20 high, 50 wide and 50 deep hangar into a mountain and not have SI kick my ass. Why would I want to build it? Well, I want to park my CV in it. It hates sitting outside in the rain... Should be epic, if it works out.
Cool, wonder if that means that Issue got fixed! Now, if Steam would learn how to make a REAL way to Screenie Workshop Entries... seriously, why can't we just stick them onto Workshop Items STRAIGHT from our Steam Screenie Library? *Facepalm* If it gets heard of this happening more often, maybe... otherwise i'd be more likely to believe that the Arachnid got stuck in the HV Geometry, either in Geometry Collision, Monster Pathing AI, or a mix of both of the above. Egad... that use of Levers, LCD Screens, & that one certain Symbol... Genius! Funny ya mention that... I think the same happens to @LiftPizzas as well!
Thank you very much...the back end looks a bit like a big zit but then again science vessels always looks weird. That houses the warp drive. will share some interiors just now
Guys, a question, since when do HV-turrets damage it's own vessel body? (I haven't used hovers in a long time now, but some of the deposits are either in/near lava or can't be automined (gold)...) sorry @rainyday wanted to add some critter defense (these horrors are not much of a problem (the speedy scorpions ARE!) but I hate their screams!)...
Yes, your own Weapons can hurt you Friendly Fire style when you're on a PvP Planet. Best to keep this in mind when designing one's HVs.
I've never seen this with bases... it's a HV and CV thing only? Hm. Empyrion needs better LoS implemented.... (line of sight)
Hmm... I don't think i've ever tested with Bases. My Memory last swears to me that Weapon Friendly Fire could be a thing with one's own Vehicles... though as always I can't swear that my Memory's swearing is worth any damn... plus sometimes changes to stuff like this happen & I either miss the Memo or forget the change happened. Still, imho it's good practice to build to avoid your Turrets being able to hit its own stuff regardless cause even if it can't hurt itself that way, it still wastes shots that then can no longer try to travel to & hit an actual Enemy, if nothing else.
I've still not eliminated the Drone Base here at Aestus (no time to play, but now got my CV down with Thunder Tank) and build this super mining hover from @rainyday . And my Base has many turrets around the small main building which shoot at incoming drones, so I do think they're not hitting their own base...
Isn't friendly fire only implemented in PvP playfields? I seem to recall that's how it used to be anyway. Like Tyrax Lightning, I miss some things that come out while clearly remembering some that didn't.
Yeah, I last remember Friendly Fire Damage only affecting stuff on PvP Playfields... PvE Playfields ya could shoot your own HV with its own Artillery Turret & never make a dent. Which, speaking of which, Hitscan Weapons are typically good about not inflicting friendly fire since their Projectile has to LoS 'see' the Target to fire then when it fires, it's already at the target instantly. When Friendly Fire Damage from own Weapons in PvP happens, it's most often from AoE Explosive Weapons, like Rocket Turrets, SV Plasma Cannons, & such. I think it's lookin good thus far, just ya need to work on your Sales Pitch. & Sales Pitches aren't just for selling merchandise... it's also for selling effort to popularize one's Creations.
