If the developers could work on an all immersive VR version of the game with an intravenous nutrient delivery system, we could do away with this irritating RL thing once and for all
More work on the Asteroid Base, Gotta find a name for it. I really hope 7.0 does not make me have to start over. That would suck.
no worries....7 will update the textures. you might just have to rotate or adjust some manually. it looks awesome btw! love it. just a note for CV's, rather then a landing pad, i usually have a docking arm/port arm as CV"s get to big to have a landing pad for every CV
Testing out replacing Freighter blueprints with player made blueprints and IT WORKS!!!! ... I replaced the Carrier in Akua with Neal's Star Trek Galaxy class ship and added some drones to the back of the ship. It's pretty cool because the ship was sitting still until I got close to it and it started shooting at me and moving then the drones started spawning from where the shuttle bay is. Seeing this thing flying and shooting back at me is just EPIC. Picard won. LOL but it was fun
I'm nervous. >> too much espresso. ah... another one can't make it worse. . . . it made it worse... . . . still nervous. MORE nervous... . . . >> oh come on! . . . >> that was a nice Mad Max Muscle Car! Make a new one! . . ja.... . . nah... I can't. . . oh my, I've ripped out half my hair already! . . >> then do it! . . NO! people will laugh and call me obsessed and hooked... >> you are obsessed and hooked... >> so DO IT! >> .. and then back to normality! . . . okay .. yes . YES AHHHHH GOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!! Spoiler: back to the root! (at least for the moment) Warp Hunter (Rugged Edition) ======================= An Early DroneHunter from the old Days. Back then an Experimental Fighter. Lost in the Unknown... Recently found by a stranded victim. It has seen better days.... BUT.... It's still fully functional! Intact! And it has an Experimental Warp Drive included!!! ** You need the Experimental 7.0 for this! ** It's. a. DroneHunter!! -------------------------------------------------------------- Alright, guys, why there's another one. (Experimental) 7 will introduce some heavy Ressource changes that alter especially the beginning survival part of the game. No more Cobalt in deposits (you can find it in surface rocks or as loot). Sathium and Neodymium on the Moon or Asteroids? Nada. Try Drones (Capacitor Devices) or disassemble military POIs instead (Hardened Steel blocks). Not to mention the usual rare ores Erestrum and Zarcosium. These are now needed for any "advanced" Weapons and even Ammo!! So no Seeker Missiles or Rail guns in the beginning anymore... ByeBye beloved "Mark 5", even the MKIII and MKIV are EndGame now, the MKII I will change and replace Seekers with normal Rocket Launchers, but it is a bit too small to include Warp tech. So a new class between the MKII and MKIII had to be designed. This as a background, with this new Alpha-7-Fighter you'll need ** 8x Capacitor Devices from Drones for the Neodymium (minus the Loot you find in POIs). ** additional 28x Capacitor Devices OR 23x Hardened Steel Blocks for the Sathium (minus Loot) ** additional a good amount of Cobalt from Surface Rocks. BUT this is manageable just from the Starter Planets: Drones and 1 military POI ;-) Then you get a Hardened Steel Performance Fighter with Warp Tech and Constructor included! Features: - High Performance (47m/s² lateral Acceleration, around 9m/s² Pitch/Yaw) with two Thruster-Configurations - Hardened Steel armor - Good Weaponry for any Drones and POI Turrets : 5x Gatlings + 4x Rocket Launcher - Full Warp Tech included for Long Range Engagements, Looting and Recon missions! - Constructor for any Survival needs (hidden, needs access through Control Panel "P") - 4x Cargo Boxes (2 Hidden) + 2x Fridges + 2x Armor Lockers + O2 Station It's old, it's a bit rusty.... but it's a DroneHunter! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1159635899
Released my base design on the workshop today" A.I. Toa, PPC . There will be an Omega series once Alpha 7.0 is released comprising of armored concrete and some upgrades. I basically took Burrbrusk's Dome of the colony and redesigned it added a bit of logic and made it more to my liking.
Yes, definitive! (I really like that texture...) and now after I got my addiction fueled again, I'm back at rugged rusties ;-)
FUN. There is no Fun. Besides you're in a SkyRocket dominating the wildlife in your rough world! "In rough places you need spikes. A lot of Spikes. And rust. Yes, rust too."
Thanks, I plan on putting CV "Docking" at the bottom of the base with just a small pad to house the repair bay. Then get rid of the large docking pad.
oh that's funny ;-) was working on the exact same blueprint... okay then... but I have another rusty base in the works...
I have another one: (or did I'd shown it already?? ) The Rugged Miner ============= nevertheless, it's the final version for upload into Steam...
Today I worked on updating one of our WIP SVs with new textures. We used to have the light cubes texture painted navy blue on the side of Gargoyle, but the new brighter emissives make it sky blue. I had to change the texture completely, but I came up with a new design that I like much better. I also added a few exterior lights to enhance the 3rd person view (and screenshots) at night. This is our dropship that we use for mining missions, etc but not for heavy combat. I really like the hatch in the roof that enables you to mine with your drone from inside the ship. I redesigned the back of the vessel to fit in a short range warp drive and fuel tank. I couldn't get the center of mass to work for me, so I'm going to get @Friendly Timo to balance all the RCSs. I'm really excited about finishing up these small vessels and then get back to work on our new CV.
Didn't Pyston say he was retiring from Empyrion building? Some disagreement about him wanting to charge for BPs and other community members saying they didn't agree with that prospect.
It's friday night and the best thing i do is to find out which turret looks the least offensive for my eyes... (hint: they look all awful, lol)
Honestly - they could look like lego bricks to me and it wouldn't matter. Gameplay trumps graphics 7 days a week. Having said that, far right, or third from the left.
Been binging on this game all week like a mofo . . . trying to binge it out so I can get back to "work" . . . Made it up to about level 21 in the Dawn of Galaxy scenario and in the interim went into Creative and made myself a "starter" CV called CV_Minimal (imagine a lime green school bus with sentry turrets). Finally cleared out the Alien King's Palace (but couldn't find the god dang core so I could legit switch to Creative the blast that sucker . . . I'll be back . . . maybe. Finally found that last ONE PIECE of plastic to get my CV_Minimal factory order going and plugged it in. Started stripping down my base on Maiy in preparation to make the jump to Akua; leaving the structure and basic machines, but taking most everything else. Got the CV spawned in and transferred and then had to decide what to do with the "Ex-7 Explorer" ship that you get at the start of the scenario (a beautiful ship, but far too fragile for my tastes). I forget exactly what happened . . . I believe drones attacked my base and since my "Minimal" CV has nothing but a steel skin, I jumped in it and fled away from the base (all concrete). None of my turrets seem to pay any attention to the attacking drones, so I jumped out to kill them standing on the roof, naturally I fell off. Managed to kill them, but now I had this serious problem with a Capital Ship hovering 400 meters up in the sky and only the Ex-7 to to grab it. So I hopped in it and "landed" it on the roof . . . strange no "KERCLANG!" docking sound. Again memory is a bit blurry, but somehow, I managed to leave the Ex-7 up there levitating in the sky with an empty gas tank. *Sigh* So! Now I send a tiny little SV I designed a long time ago called "Modulus" which is just basically a working platform and headed up there, and somehow in the course of trying to strip apart the Ex-7 up there AGAIN I fall out of the sky! I could build yet another modulus, but the thought occurs to me that I'm only worsening the problem by adding to the wreckage in the skies of Maiy, so as it is middle of the night I opt to build a "Stairway to Heaven" using concrete blocks . . . many distractions from Alien Assassins, Arachnids, Spider, Golems and Otuyghs later, I FINALY get a platform built right under (and slightly clipping into) the Ex-7 and hop in it. What happens next!? The clipping causes it to careen out of the sky like a cabbage falling off a truck! Well that problem is solved, so I run back up and grab my utility SV and bring it down and as dawn breaks set into tearing down the Ex-7 with earnest. The picture next captures the aftermath of one particular encounter that occurred during the course of tearing apart the Explorer and you can see the Stairway to Heaven in the back and one corner of Modulus in the left!
