Here is "CV_Minimal" in all her . . . erm "beauty" This was literally the absolute minimum starter design I could come up with which would not be disposable, but would instead be extensible. The core has one layer of combat steel around it but everything else is just plain steel == collapses when a plant creature swipes it a couple times. I like to make big bulky ass ships that can take a beating and worry about making it look somewhat "pretty" afterward. I must have about 15 CV designs that I need to go into Creative and bring up to date with the latest version of the game and also add pretties. So the idea of the "all lime green circuit board (on all sides so it is quite trippy inside it too! )" look was this makes it easy to identify the "inner soft layer. I will add extensions to the sides and maybe upward as I progress, and plan to keep this ship throughout the whole "scenario" or as long as I play and just see what it looks like after I've fully souped it up in survival building mode. Of course first priority is to get a layer of combat steel on the outside and I'll use angled pieces to try to give it at least some aesthetics.
1,2 and 5 (low, mid) would be perfect! I can't understand why we still haven't at least some ball turrets Lasers or plasma guns. Nothing fancy, just a ball with a guns on it which is not sticking out much from it's surroundings. That would be more than enough for me personally. I just really hate to put those junkyard style Turrets on a ship that is supposed to look clean and advanced. It's just frustrating to work on a ship for days and week, make it look as good as possible and to put a lot of thought into it, just to put those "things" on it, ruining all the previous work. I mean i'm not demanding something fancy (but extremely awesome) like this:
Today I had continue my work on a POI started couple of days ago. Haravin told me to make something where the alien assassins could live. Checking out later their body features I just realized the assassins are more beasts than advanced race, so this building not really fit to their stile. Maybe it can turn out as some sort breeding-training facility to them. Will see when I get there. Without rotation I still have to rebuild manually the four sides, and take a lot of time. It is not a space POI, just go quicker for me to build there.
I agree with Rucky we need foldable turrets and maybe the ability to mod turrets in this game. I kind of wished they would allow us to build our own turrets in game.
I've moved two asteroids close to each other; placed my CV hanger into one of them and am now starting to build my base inside the other. My plans are to have a walk way from the BA to the hanger with a large window enclosed solarium in the middle. The view is fantastic.
Capability to be Watertight has not been Implemented yet... or at least, I hope 'yet' applies. You can't rush Inspiration. Do ya want it done fast, or do ya want it done right? Choose carefully... one of those choices has much better consequences then the other. I hope you made them suffer... Idea: BP it, port it over to Experimental, get it ready for 7.0 in advance? I wouldn't feel bad about losing to Picard... he's among Starfleet's finest. Aww... that's so cute! That Otyugh thinks it's a Hermit Crab! I would welcome such a new avenue of potential Mad Empyrion Science.
Building them ourselves would be really nice. But i think that would be really hard to realize for the devs.
Nice! Just want to see if you know about the registry where you can access your ship and switch the power off. Then your ship will drop to the ground
@SilvRav: thanks! That is good to know. Registry auto-off sounds great. I did not know about that. I have all too often jumped out thinking I was only 5 m from the ground and realized I was 50 m. In those situations that will help tremendously. But in this situation, the explorer had nearly zero fuel when I took it up there ("fumes") and it was already powered off when I landed it on top of the CV. Nonetheless it levitated, so I don't think that would have helped there. The little utility SV maybe, but I think it might have "caught" on the other one. Re: my "Minimal," just realized warp engines and/or large generators emit radiation and heat! Back to the drawing board . . .
I've been tossing this idea around. Still have to go through the experience progression (unless I cheat myself up) Guess I am going to have to just bite the bullet and do it.
Guys, a quick question... is there something with the Blueprint / Steam Workshop? I can't update my Submissions...
I got to Aitis to find that 7.0 really totally destroys the Erestrum levels. 300-800. With PowerCoils and such now costing a fortune, I wonder if there'll be enough to build everything!
Today I finished like 95% of my new basic SV that is 'warpable' - and it turned just fine, pretty much like I had it in my head. I still have to fix some textures on lower side and rotate them, but it is a boring job with rotating whole blocks, erasing, rotating & switching textures to get correct position - EGS weirdness in its best - so I take a time out I call this thing "SBC Kosmobus iStellar" Idea is to have basic, low level, cheap SV, of nice size and with all necessary equipment for my game style - and to look a bit 'space retro'. So I reused my old Kosmobus (space version of VW Bus, it can be seen on last picture painted in beagle colors ) It is buildable on Level 10. Mostly it is paper thin but I did separate every major device with a block, and I just need to install one extra small fuel tank for backup away from other tanks. It can be easily upgraded in several areas (armor, engines, devices, weapons), and materials used in this current version are - Iron 468, Silicon 208, Copper 260, Cobalt 129... prod. time 40m. All in all, it it OK
okaaayy... guys, what do you think? I'm not yet convinced... (build after a design from Nosture with more of... everything) but I'm not yet happy with it... ... evenn the manoeverability is not as good as I normally prefer...
