@Kieve I'm getting a strong luxury powercraft vibe from your ship. I love the way that the flying bridge canopy wraps around and integrates the viewports. Great stuff.
Part of it is just a love of long, sweeping angles / slopes / curves. I wish like hell Empyrion had a 1:4 or even 1:8 set of slopes & corners, but sadly the long ramps are the best I can do for now. The rest of it is just pining over google image searches and wishing I could get closer to the designs that really inspire me. Then I must be doing something right, because luxury is exactly what I'm aiming for here. Thank you. @rucky I am really liking the way that base complex is turning out. That's some nice work!
Space station update: 7.2 seems to have screwed up the facing of a lot of textures I'd worked on recently so I spent some time fixing that yesterday. I've been working on the engineering section today. It's coming along. I added some catwalks and redesigned the power generator housing among other things. I still have the other side with the constructors to finish before I can start working on the second half.
Space station is looking great @Siege Inc. . I'd also noticed the texture rotation glitches the last couple of updates... It was driving me crazy the first time as I thought that I had missed some spots that I really shouldn't have missed, but then it happened again and it was clear that it was a game glitch rather than a /me glitch Today I spent the afternoon feeling really self-conscious. One of my ships made it on the workshop featured list for the first time ever, and actually made it onto the first rank. While I'm stoked and really glad that people are enjoying it, I kind of cringe a little when I tab over to Steam and see it sitting there in the featured spot when there's much, much better stuff that really ought to be there instead. Guess I'll get over it... hehe What I actually did today (other than fret) was to put together a little test panel for trying out/prototyping some ideas for logic circuits:
Nice Haul. This is the amount of armament not including pistol and AR shells I got from 1 Com Center and 1 Spaceport!!! That's a lot of quiche to make this stuff!
I used to dock my HV parallel to my CV on one side. That way I could use the laser drills and turrets of the HV to mine in space without having to install a mining turret on the CV. But the CV turret has a lot more range, so it's not necessarily a good strategy... Unless you're really short on resources...
A bit more progress... Garden Hall and O2 Station finished (again, no rust, still a bit more mad maxifying), also added 2 more Wall sections and another Landingpad and added the Rusty Vessels too. @jmtc Wheels are sadly not possible (too big, I had to make HVs for Wheels only), but the Bus is in the Works... a bit...) still to do: Vehicle Repair station with damaged Mustang (as Hover), Quarters... perhaps some Fluff structures... EDIT: one positive fact about multiple sections: you can adjust Y-level of each Section. Even when this area seems relatively even... it isn't.
So i’ve been enjoying some exp 7.3 joy this week and got to a point to start truly exploring. After defanging the drone base with two outposts joining the battle (ugh), I discovered the @Fractalite updated abandoned mine. All I can say is that Frac can just bite me! I won’t spoil anything, but gotta say, I’ve jumped a few times like I haven’t thus far.
And remember to take a SV to raze the outside of the Factory with before you land. That's my recommendation after my first experience with it. Won't spoil it more - it's a dish best served cold.
Started to build a decent sized starbase but i noticed very soon, that i reaced the allowed limits... the game needs to allow bigger structures! lol. (The Blue selection was already too big....) Aaargh, how am i supposed to work!!!
Bigger? Sure! Now paint/texture it. Speaking of space stations: can haz hockey rink. Alas, ice skates and hockey sticks not implemented yet. Also a little park area. I really wish we had more plant deco options. Could use some bushes, flowers, and a couple trees.
No problem anymore. Stuff like quarters are made 1x and get copied x times so that every NPC will get a room for his/her/it(?) own. The existing limitations are ok if there are only few ppl (some players + NPCs) there (like right now in game), but what about having hundreds NPCs living/working in a Starbase or ship if the games allows,/needs more ppl. to work there?
