I felt sweat trickling down my neck... I could swear I heard the wind wispering in my ear "put your helmet"...
Not even seen NPC yet in this version, besides I am an isolationist, no NPC welcome ! I typically finish a build in bright colours so that it can be more easily sprayed at the end when i reach the point of deciding on a permanent colour scheme, though I have to say, the exterior is probably staying on this one. The interior may get a lick of paint here and there, and perhaps some external details will receive a glaze. Most empyrion colours are too rich and make ships look like cartoon toys and with that said there are only perhaps 3 useful colours and im sick of using the same colours all the time xD My SV collection wore them out pretty fast. Thanks I enjoyed putting them in and felt they gave her a little of something different
Being able to choose two colours for one item would be great too, there could be some beautiful combinations and coordination then.
Ok so far I am having the most fun ship building experience I have had so far building this CV. I avoided building bigger ships for a long time as they seemed too much work, but once you get started you just cant stop with a CV ! I decided to name her the "Lexington Expedition" A PvE science/expeditionary vessel. Though she is not quite ready for the champagne bottle to be smashed across the bow. Wont post any more pics after this as it wont change much from this point except for minute details and perhaps a spot of colour here and there but at least now there is some specs pics. A view to a kill ^_^ This ship is not being released until I have tested it for a week or so, fine tuning, the performance stats came out not so bad considering the thrusters I initially placed have not been modified since the ships hull creation. Seems it was left with reasonable speeds after filling it up. I have room to improve on this further.
The space mining mission I organized was delayed for several days, and mostly because both @Friendly Timo and I have been absorbed in Creative projects. He's designing a combat SV named Banshee, for our Wyvern fleet. My project is Classified Top Secret for the time being, but I did have to stop for a moment last night to enjoy an Omicron sunset. By pure coincidence we both exited the game at the same time for a comfort break, so I suggested we finally complete our mission. We needed to cruise by Ningues and discovered the natural environment of our Wyvern fleet. Timo did not stop to let me take scenic pictures though--lol--and hurried onward to Tallodar. I had very reliable intel on the existence of pentaxid asteroids in the planet's ring, and we have a serious need for warp fuel because the moon has only a handful of crystals now and only got 1 resource meteorite... We found one immediately after the warp jump, and rapidly seized control of it. We're always enthusiastic about space mining, but the need to secure our freedom to travel caused us to attack the deposit with great urgency... Actually, the nearby Freighter caused the urgency. Even then, the beauty of the scene was so distracting that I needed to "waste time" taking some pictures. We succeeded in our stealthy mining, and picked the asteroid clean of every last pentaxid crystal! We got more than 1600 crystals. We might not need that much for our entire game (we'll start fresh when the Alpha 8 comes along), but at least we can galavant around the solar system as much as we like. Then it was time to RTB, and I captured this awesome shot from within the warp bubble! I've only captured it once before--it's so hard to get. This is what it looks like as the destination space begins to envelop the collapsing warp bubble. From within subspace, regular space looks like a bubble, with some photons piercing through before the space unwraps itself around the vessel. When we arrived back at Akua, I needed to call it a night. Timo made a quick scouting mission to Skillon, to set up Sathium and Neodynium miners, and also located the ideal spot for our Expedition Base. It's nestled in the mountains, next to a small lake. It's so beautiful there and I'm really excited about that expedition--but first we're making our move to Oscutune. It may take a couple of warp jumps to bring some things we want for our new homebase, and we'll want to spend time enjoying our new home before leaving on an expedition.
