One cockpit is the master. The last person to enter the ship is the one in control, it doesn't matter which one. Edit* This is no longer true. Now the FIRST one in has control.
Thanks, as I'm in single player for now I'm always the first and last person to get in so I guess in that sense they are equivalent, just use which ever one is handy or easiest to get into. Good to know for sure.
Had to take a break from a major build so I decided to make a heavy interceptor to go with it. I give you the Black Widow Heavy Interceptor.
Another ship from Boychev Industries ;D (still WIP,havent decided the paintjob yet) The BI Destroyer 1 - a Heavy Bomber, can be fitted for cargo hauling and mining operations. Let me know what you people think.
@Nickolai very nice design!. Looks to me like a hybrid between any modern army fighter and Star Wars Tie-Bomber Nicely done.
Thank you. Some of the inspiration came from Star Wars yes,but I just liked this wing design so much that I wanted it to put it on my own ships. Edit:The Original design was actually putting 4 wings total. One in each direction (left, right, down,up) but I felt it was going to be too heavy and hard to maneuver.I might add those some day.
I have 2 more to add to my simplistic designed vehicles. I'll get to the fancy stuff later (hopefully). The first is Tiny_Tim, basically what I envisioned as the smallest SV possible that would still function. First off,yes I know it's a death trap with no protection of any kind, but what do you expect for a ship in a box type of build. Minimum of parts and small size were the primary goals while still providing something that you can work from. The guns on the front are not for combat as some would expect (this is a one shot and it's scrap metal ship). The guns are actually to ring the door bell with. Totaling only 4 SV blocks high it will fit in a BS type structure with a room only 2 BS blocks tall, dang tight fit but it can be done. The guns are just to make a big enough hole in an outside wall to fly into and maybe take out a bit of floor to make the fit easier. It's a run and hide, tiny target, disposable SV for when you don't want to risk something of better quality. It also makes a nice recovery vehicle to transport you and needed parts to a downed SV. Just break it down to parts and rebuild when you get back to base. George Jetson and his car that folds up into a briefcase comes to mind. And yes there is an O2 station on the other side and 2 O2 tanks, can't work long without air. The next items is a floating sniping/hunting platform. The idea for this was the sometimes problem finding just the right location to snipe out a tower's defenses. With this you can hop out of the cockpit and stay on the ship as a shooting platform. I can usually just hop back in during reloads on my laser rifle and it will stay in hover long enough for me to empty the next clip. It also works nice as a hunting platform, while in the air on the platform nothing can sneak up behind you (until they add flying mobs to the game that is). Just a couple simple builds intended to address specific situations utilizing as few parts as needed in a simple quick to build format. Neither is robust but they get done what I needed them to get done and do it cheaply. Enjoy Update: After using Tiny_Tim in a survivor game I found 2 things of interest. First: This little guy is great on fuel mileage, I'd say between 2 and 3 times the mileage of the repaired escape pod (depending on how you refit yours). Second: I forgot to add lights, so I hung one on either side under the side thrusters. Kind of makes them part of the landing gear but hey, it's only lights after all. UPDATE: I'm not sure if a recent game update broke something or my original file got corrupted somehow but when I tried to place a BP of a Tiny_Tim only about half of the little guy showed up. To help anybody wanting to make one for their own use (and so I didn't forget what I did) I made a visual of the actual build layout labeling the unclear parts and showing an inventory snap of the actual parts needed (I now keep a set stored in my main interplanetary transport for easy setup and use). Enjoy
Ok so many guys would see some SVs. Then they will download it. Now i realease some Shippacks from 3 factions. !WARNING! the ED Ships, are Protopypes! !WARNING! ED - Kosak ED - Viper GI - Tritos [Parsec Class] LC - Dice
Well, have seen a bunch of Star Wars, Babylon, Star Trek, etc, etc... but figured I'd go really old-school, and whip out some classic, extreme, hardcore sci-fi... taking a page from Doctor Who... straight from Gallifrey... yep, it's just another Police Box... erm, AKA: THE TARDIS! ^_^ (Tried to make it as "detailed" as possible, however, due to the size of the blocks, it got a tad taller and a bit wider than I would have liked, but eh, might tinker with it and touch it up in time... enjoy!) - 5 RCSes - 4 Plasma Cannons - 4 Rocket Launchers - 4 Fuel Tanks - 4 Refrigerators - 4 Cargo Containers - 3 Generators - 2 Directional Headlights pointing forward and down, 1 Headlight to right, left, and rear. - 2 Oxygen Tanks - 1 Oxygen-Station - 1 Constructor - 1 Armored Thruster to go UP - 2 Directional Thrusters to go BACK - 1 Directional Thruster to go LEFT, RIGHT, FORWARD, DOWN - Cockpit is inside doors, enter and look up, can click it from below... first-person view works but looks through grates, might be fun in third-person. - (And a partridge in a pear-thing tree!?) ...And yes, even though you can't necessarily see it, it does have landing gear. PS - Could probably knock out a couple 2x2x2 block area on the sides to shove in passenger-pods if you really wanted to, at least the flat ones. Or if you wanted to use the angled ones may be able to put them in the roof up top.
Hmm, that looks like industrialspying ;-) Or maybe a coincidence. Anyway, I like the "turtle" design. It offers so much space. Cheers, Memphis
Babylon 5 - Crew Shuttle Features: ------------- 1:1 Scale 4 passenger seats 8 fuel tanks 16 oxygen tanks 2 small constructors 2 oxgen stations 4 cargo boxes 2 small fridges 3 generators 9 RCV's front and side thrusters are hidden! Cockpit entry from interior side Reworked version on Steam workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=668142099
Another small vessel, the SCRAPHEAP 1 x RCS 2 x Rocket Launchers 2 x Pulse Lasers 1 x fuel tank 1 x Cargo Box 1 x Generator 2 x Forward Directional thrusters 2 x Bottom Directional Thrusters 1 x Top Directional Thruster 1 each left and right Directional Thrusters 3 x Slant main Thrusters It's well armored without going overboard and handles like a dream... acceleration is pretty spot on too. I use it as a sniping platform for taking out turrets on towers from just out of return fire range. Handles drones pretty easily too as long as you know how to lead the target. Enjoy
I wasn't sure about publishing any SV's as there's so many great ships already here, but I've been working on this for the past few days and it's turned out much better than I thought it would.. so here goes.. F-447 Fathawk A single seat Small Vessel designed for long-distance precision strikes and subsequent storage of acquired resources. During flight, press F to toggle "Stealth Mode". Note however that our engineers had limited funds and used some parts they salvaged from ancient Earth equipment. They assure us that this "Stealth" system has never been countered, however our scientists instantly disagreed and say that the enemy's modern target acquisition systems will allow their AI-controlled weapons to lock on regardless of whether Stealth is active or not. Many expletives were exchanged. The debate continues. Equipment 7 Thrusters: 4 rear, 3 underneath 14 Directional Thrusters: 4 front, 2 left, 2, right, 3 top, 3 bottom 10 Fuel Tanks 7 RCS 2 Generators: 3.6MW output (45-50% usage when in atmospheric flight, 10-15% in vacuum) 2 Weapons: Front Mounted Rail Guns, Minimal Spread 1 Oxygen Station 3 Oxygen Tanks 3 Fridges 7 Cargo Containers 1 Small Constructor Weight & Fuel Economy Weight: 13t Full tanks, constant forward flight at top speed: ~76 minutes (Atmos.)* / ~300 minutes (Vac.) Acceleration 0-40m/s (Atmos., Level Flight)*: ~1.4 seconds 0-110m/s (Vac., Zero G): ~3.6 seconds *Tested on Akua >> More images here << Blueprint attached Notes: This ship has only been briefly combat tested to make sure the weapons didn't cause more damage to themselves than their target, but I didn't have any problem dodging incoming fire from some towers. Just try not to expose the door on top too much. When flying in external view the crosshair is off-centre. Has a tiny effect on your firing line in that view but in cockpit view it's fine. I've tried shifting/adding mass to different sides, moving & rotating the core even, nothing seems to fix it. If anyone can tell me how to solve this I'd be very grateful Or if I figure it out in the meantime I'll post it.
@Elfnessa i am curious about the choice to use SV instead of HV for your taxi. since you have roads (dats alot of grow plots) and bumpers, seems like it's all built for a hover.
Actually this picture at the top is the HoverTaxi picture it's not the SV, i made 2 of them 1 HV 1 SV!
My survival game "all-purpose" gunship. This was my third model, after losing the other two to the game's learning curve...
